Bruised but Training

Stupid question I know, but I have a guy "bruised, but training"; I'd really hoped he would be well enough to start Wednesday, so he could at least be eligible for training. But alas, no.

However, I noticed when doing a last minute check of my instructions screen that his name is no longer in red letters. Does that mean he's healthy enough to play, or are they just trying to trick me?

If he is +1, bruised but training he cannot play.

If he has only a band-aid icon and is bruised but training, he can play.

Players won't be red when they are training status... If you train general or set pieces or stamina, he'll get the training... but he will not be able to play.
