IWS #227 - College Football Edition
Responses due by 9 PM Thursday, September 11th.
The Rules The rules are the same as previous FOFC “I’m With Stupid" Contests, as set forth by the game's, and indeed our very community's, most cherished and beloved progenitors and inspirational leaders, and also QuikSand. May we never lose our commitment to reverently speak their names and heartily toast their greatness. The object of this contest is to answer the questions posted, and to provide the most common answer among those submitted. For each question, your score will be equal to the number of people who submitted that response. Your score for the contest will be the product of your individual question scores. For the mathematically challenged, product means they are multiplied together, not added. Highest score wins. Collaboration of any kind is strictly forbidden. No posting your answers to this board, nor sharing them by e-mail or in any other way with other potential contestants. There are no prizes other than everlasting glory and total consciousness on your deathbed, so the need to cheat shouldn't be an issue. All determinations of "matches" and anything else requiring even the most trivial degree of judgment fall to that of the sole administrator of this round of the game. You can reduce the need for doubt and judgment by properly spelling your submissions, being clear, and that sort of thing. My decisions are final and utterly inarguable, no exceptions. I summarily reject any suggestion of this structure as evidence of any personal character flaw. Any references that are unclear to you, due to language or geography, should be understood to be authored from the perspective of an English-speaking American. However... Your answers do not necessarily have to be correct in order to score points. If I ask "What is the proper nickname of Columbia, SC?" and you answer "Capital City" along with 9 other people, you each score 10 points, even though the correct answer is "Armpit of the South" ***************************
Spoiler
IWS #227 Well last episode was NFL focused, but before you can play in the NFL you have to try your hand at college. So lets go back in time a bit... 1. This year marks the debut of the much discussed "College Football Playoff" where the Top 4 teams will be selected to take part in a mini-tournament to determine a champion. Regardless of how you select a pool or how big the pool is there is always someone who feels snubbed. Who will be the #5 ranked and "first team out" in this inaugural season of the college football playoff? 2. Stupid Junior is a pretty good athlete and Father Stupid wants to give his son the best chance at a scholarship. So the family plans to move to another state, the state with the best and most high school recruits to really catch all the scouts eyes. Stupid has some existing warrants in Miami from that incident in the 70s so Florida is out of the question. Where does the Stupid family move to? 3. The move pays off and 5* Stupid Junior has his choice of any school in the country. But lest we forget Junior is still son of stupid so he wants to make sure where ever he goes has easy academics, in fact if he doesn't have to go to class at all that is preferred. So what school gives stupid the ideal mix of a chance to win a championship, easy competition on the field, easy/no classes? 4. Stupid calls his older brother who is a senior at Ohio State playing for notoriously lenient Urban Meyer and learns that the oldest stupid kid will make his first start this weekend because all 4 depth chart players in front of him have been suspended. What on God's Green Earth did these kids do to make Urban suspend them? 5. In his first season Stupid Junior's college misses the playoff but still got a bowl bid. What Bowl Game will they be playing in? 6. Stupid Junior manages to blow get injured and his playing career is done. AT least he still has his degree to fall back on. Remember he is stupid, so what did he choose to major in? = = = = = There you have it. PM your responses to me, with something sufficiently clear in the title. Contest closes 9 PM Eastern, Thursday September 11th. Please help with the "snet" and other suitably amusing response-bumps to help keep the contest in mind. |
