Revenge is a dish best served cold
So I have a quarterback named Mo Casher. I drafted him number one overall. He won 6 straight championships with me and 7 overall. After the 7th championship he was a free agent. I offered him over 70 million dollars over 4 years and he spurned me in the very first round of free agency to take a deal with the Seahawks for ten million dollars less!
There were no good free agent qbs and I was at a loss what to do. That's when genius struck. I looked at the Seahawks team and saw they had a very capable 2nd string qb. In fact he had thrown for 60% the year previously as a starter. I was able to pry him from the Seahawks for two number three picks. It was now going to be a competition. Who was going to do better? Mo Casher with the Seahawks or me with their former second string qb Rex Wells. After starting 1-2, Wells reeled off 13 straight wins to finish 14-2. After easily winning the first round game, I had a date with destiny. Bears vs Seahawks in the conference championship game. There would be a clear winner and loser to all this wheeling and dealing after all. Bears 16 Seahawks 7 Passing Statistics Seattle Att Comp Yards Sk/Yd TD LG Int Rate Mo Casher 44 25 230 5/34 1 34 2 59.8 Chicago Att Comp Yards Sk/Yd TD LG Int Rate Rex Wells 48 32 262 1/5 1 32 0 87.3 We picked off Casher twice and even though it only led to three points total. He was kept in check all game. There would be no letdown in the Super Bowl as we beat Houston by a score of 31-10. One of the more fun seasons I have played ![]() |

When and how to change high-performance high-cost QBs is one of the franchise-defining choices. Nice work even though the first half of the equation wasn't your choice.

To wrap up the story. I got back to the Super Bowl the following year but lost...Mr. Mo Casher on the other hand led the Seahawks to a 6-10 record, had a career worst passer rating and promptly retired. He should have never left me
![]() I admit it was a hell of a run. I can make the playoffs most years, but usually get bounced out. This was something special. |
