You could build a 1 player universe. Open the player file creator (you should see this in the solecismic folder on the start menu). There are details of what to include in a csv file. Set one up only with one player. When you create the player file it will ask you what year you want the file to start in. When you start a new game you need to start using an alternate file. Select the file you created. The game will automatically populate the rest of the universe with players.
