My first SP draft

I'm new to FOF7, just finished my first SP draft, looking for feedback please.

RD1-MLB-35/64
RD2-RB-33/54
RD3-LDE-19/32
RD4-LDT-17/30
RD5-RB-29/44
RD6-RB-25/37
RD7-QB-19/36

To me it looks like my first 2 picks were ok, but after that ouch...

Your join date is Sep 2010 and you're new to the game?
I found some of such confusions.

Draft position?

no WR, OL or DB seems like a mistake.

I don't like taking RB in the 2nd round at all. 5th round guy might be nearly as good as 2nd round guy.

I'm kinda really big on drafting QB(obv), DBs, OL, DL or WR early. I will also take a RB if he's obviously the BPA when I pick. Especially if he's the best RB in the draft.

Don't like LBs in the first unless they're a super stud OLB(especially in the 3/4)

Hate drafting 3RB. Someone decent would be in 2nd FA likely.

If that ILB was the 25th pick its great value. Top 10, though, it would be a misfire unless u have a ton of stud defenders and they're all pretty young.

It's too early to judge the rookies on their initial overall ratings this shortly after the draft. We have no information yet on which players will reach their potential (and beyond?) and which were overrated and will never reach that potential.

That said, I don't mind a LB in the first round, I spent a 1.31 and a 2.2 pick on linebackers on my current team. They are all around top-notch. It's a different story if the picked linebacker is purely a pass rusher, or a pass defender, or even worse, has little value towards the pass defense.

RB is a position where you can usually find useful backups (possibly return specialists) in the late rounds or even after the draft. Getting a true difference maker will require a 1st round pick, usually.

The DE and DT picks tell me nothing from their overall ratings. Usually I've got half a dozen of those rated 35 or lower, because I tend to sign guys that have just one or two high bars. But that's a personal approach to the game.

The QB, it depends. It's probably the toughest position to draft in FOF7. Using a 7th rounder to make sure you get a guy that looks decent enough to get into a post-draft bidding war is a good decision. I tend to look at particular bars, rather than the overall rating, although it's easy to forget that a QB can be interceptions-prone if his bars look prettier than his overall rating (and vice versa, a relative safe QB has a higher overall rating than his bars would suggest.) My personal approach is to only spend a high pick (top of the first round) on QB if I'm convinced that player will be top12 at his position, so basically the best of his class. A backup QB can be found on the open market.
