If Warren Moon is in the HOF, Romo certainly could make his case.

I've spent a lot of time on the HoF question for quarterbacks especially. Moon received credit for estimated full seasons in the NFL for the years he played in the CFL. While he wasn't the full-time quarterback in Edmonton, the Eskimos did win five straight CFL titles. The voters also considered that, back in the late '70s, it was still considered "controversial" to start a black quarterback. This was changing rapidly in the early '80s, and he was a big part of the reason why.

So while he's the outlier statistically when you consider modern NFL numbers, there was a good case for his inclusion simply on being good enough. Plus, he had Favre-like longevity, which all HoF committees seem to like.

Romo isn't anywhere near most HoF standards yet. I don't think he gets a single vote unless he leads the Cowboys to a couple of Super Bowls in the next five years.

Think Kurt Warner has the goods to make it?

Warner is 10th in my "Career VORQ" metric, which puts him in the HoF. He has the Super Bowl MVP, which is an exclusive club that should guarantee a quarterback a long look. So yes, I think he's in without question.

The big question for me is Philip Rivers, who is a little bit better and one year of experience ahead of Romo. Neither has that club membership nor has even seen a Super Bowl except as a spectator. Rivers will probably wind up being the guy who sets the bar for "he's got the numbers, but I think he was very good, not great." Romo will join him.

If I could reach back and grab a couple of deserving Hall of Famers from past quarterbacks, I'd take Ken Anderson without a second of hesitation and I'd argue that Ken Stabler also deserves it. Probably no one else.

Of retired about-to-be candidates, Favre and Warner for certain.

Of current quarterbacks, Manning, Brady, Roethlisberger and Brees, with Rodgers pretty much a lock to get to that level.
