Will there be updated rosters?

Since the game is on Steam now, will there be updated rosters each year? Would these updates be free or a small charge?

EA posted the entire Madden rosters spreadsheet. Does anyone happen to have a Madden to FOF conversion? Seems we could have rosters quick for 2015.

complete guess on my part, but i think jim will update rosters. only makes sense to have the game as current as possible on steam when the season starts.

Just did a little checking. Here is Solecismic Software's history of releasing new rosters for the past 16 seasons.

So, some comments on the above information...

1. Apart from Jim's personal struggles that he has posted about here that impacted the 2011-2012 time frame, there's only been one time in the game's 17-year history when either a new version or free patch with roster updates was not released.
2. That version has almost always been released during Q4. 2007 rosters came out very late in Q3, and I *think* FOF1 was a Q3 release.
3. Sometimes if it's a new game, he will give some notice, though sometimes that notice is quite short. For example, FOF2007 was only announced ~24 hours before it was released.
4. I don't think he has *ever* given any notice at all of a free new roster set being released. In those cases, it just shows up one day.

Therefore, until we start seeing different behavior, the statement below applies in 2015, 2016, 2017, and in any other year.

Based on Solecismic Software's history, it is very likely that:

1. There will be either a new game with a new roster set or a free roster set for the current game released some time in Q4 of this year.
2. There will be little/no notice prior to said release.

It's hard to believe the game has been around this long. I hope there's at least an update to, if nothing else, reflect the 15 yard PAT and different spot from which kickoffs occur.

I took @LarryHud's roster file and made some more changes to it. The Seahawks are my home team so they get a lot of attention, but I also went around and made transactions for some other teams as well and updated some ratings.

Maybe we can start a community file.

just unzip and put the fdt in any folder (i put it in my FOF7 folder). start a new game and make sure you use an alternate starting player file. then start and pick the file.

I made some more updates on to the previous file, attached.

I didnt realize the rookies that LarryHud put in didnt have salaries attached to it and so they show up as FREE players! I went ahead and made an attempt to put salaries in. I did a quick conversion of what the 2014 rookies made and how much more the 2015 rookies are making, then copied and pasted the salary data from the 2014 official file rookies salary info into the newly created rookies set, so it would be a lot faster than manually typing them in. It should be a ballpark, fairly accurate figure I think.

I also corrected a few things here and there as I saw them.

Attached in the zip are the FDT roster file for use and the csv for editing.

Sorry! I have one more update. Put Chris Johnson, RB, from Free Agency to Arizona Cardinals. Thought this is important since hes the #2 rusher in the league right now. Haha.

Also modified the salary cap a little bit and did some other minor updates.

Kinda looking forward to new rosters(or a new game?)hopefully within a month or two. Feeling like getting a career going soon. No offense to anyone making roster files but I've always liked Jim's rosters the best.
