Delivery stolen

Realized today that an order I placed through Amazon was taking a bit longer than usual, so I looked up the package to track it. Apparently it was delivered in two packages, both left on my porch on Wednesday. I use my front door every day, and I haven't seen a single package. A few months ago there were rumors of a package thief in our neighborhood, but my roommates and I have packages delivered all the time and have never had problems before.

Anyone here have any experience trying to get a refund from Amazon under circumstances like this? I've tried using the website this evening, but the service is apparently unavailable right now and I need to try again later.

Give them a call. Amazon's customer service is ridiculously helpful.

Amazon will make it right.
Even if you just email the CS.

I'd add a door camera to the order this time. Replaces the peep hole and just start ordering small shit every damn day until you catch the thief.

I hate a thief.

If the delivery was by the USPS (as many of my Amazon deliveries are), you might want to call them too. They apparently have investigators for things like this. I was not victimized, but in an old neighborhood there were quite a few package theirs and they ended up catching the thief. I don't think it happens often (that they are caught), but I'd still make the call.

Amazon was very quick to re-ship another copy of my order, so another vote of confidence for their customer service here. They mentioned that the carrier was going to perform an investigation as well, so hopefully they do catch this person.

I feel like this could make for a funny SNL skit. Not that you ordered something risque but in the skit a person explaining thru 9 circles of customer service how their discretely packaged brown box went missing.
