Historical Rosters and Draft files
I tried to use the Historical Draft Files and it says the files are corrupted or from a wrong database.
I just bought the game on Steam. Any help would be appreciated. |

Anyone
I see a lot of people are looking at this, but no responses. HMMMM maybe others are having this issue.
I guess my question is do the files Nildor provided in the reference work with the Steam version of FOF2K? Has anyone else used them with Steam? |

Probably not. Several people have read this thread who do not use historical rosters or draft files--myself included. It's a relatively small subset of the FOF player universe that ever tries these.
More likely, the reason for the lack of response is that it isn't clear at what point in the process you experienced the error, which season, etc. (In the first post, it wasn't clear which set of files you were using.) FWIW, I just tried the 2005 Nilodor file. (I believe that this is the first time in 17 years of playing FOF that I've ever imported a historical draft file. Go figure.) It is working just fine in the Steam version. There's something that you're not doing right, but you'll need to provide more in the description for anyone to figure out what it is. Make sure you follow whatever instructions he has in his thread.

This is what I did. I have Windows 7 and the game runs fine without using the database. I downloaded on Steam. Download the roster and draft files and unzip them into a folder (I created a Draft and a Roster folder in the same folder as the Steam Apps) - Open up FOF 2K7 and say yes to begin a new game using an alternate player file It says says the following when I try this. "The Player database has been corrupted or is from the wrong version of Front Office Football". Where did you put the folders? I downloaded the Historic rosters from the FOF2K7 link in the reference folder. |

Are you using draft files (.faf) or roster files (.fdt)? For rosters, make sure you use .fdt to start a career, and .faf to import a draft.
I wonder if there's a long snapper issue and you're using FOF2K7 files. I think I vaguely recall that he updated the files for FOF7 for long snappers. I'm not 100% sure of that, but you might want to check for an FOF7 update to the files.

they are the fdt files. I have the FOF files or do I need to use different ones. What version did you have and what file did you use? The reference file says FoF2K7. I will try the others.
