How do you assign a mentor?
I've read this a few times.

you dont. certain players become mentors on their own for the positions they play. then you sign them (or they are already on your roster). think earliest it can happen is 5th year.

Following up on this question: do they need to be active? Or does it only matter that they're on your roster. I like signing aged veteran mentors and starting rookies, but I can't trust a 20/20 or lower CB to take a spot on my active roster.

Can a player mentor himself? I have a 5th year QB who currently is rated 33/51, and he's a mentor. Will he mentor himself, or do I need a 2nd QB mentor to help in development?

Mentoring (at least as of the last time tested) has no effect on players with more than 3 years of experience.
