Help changing logos//banners

What are the photo requirements for the banners/logos in this game?

As near as I can see from the defaults it's a BMP that is 268 x 164. But I have a logo I want to use in that format, I replace the original but it just comes up displaying no graphic when I load the game. What am I missing?

The procedure to get custom logos in the game is to just replace the originals in the program files/pictures folder, right?

Thanks for any help.

268x164 is the size for all the custom graphics I have. I believe that replacing the picture file in the program files/pictures/ folder with an appropriately named and sized .bmp should do the trick. I might try to close and re-open the game if you had it open when you changed the file.

I did close and restart the game ...

Question, is there supposed to be a separate pictures folder for each league? If so I don't see it in my program files... Not sure if there's anywhere else FOF7 files are stored on a PC.

Try putting the pictures into the users/.../AppData/Roaming/Sole..Soft.../universe/*leaguename* directory if it is a league you have already created. I think anything you put into the program files path will impact a new league that you start. You may need to go to the appdata folders to change an existing league. Give it a shot.

Are you naming them the same?

Yes I am directly replacing them. I even tried simply opening up the existing file, just modifying it to add a helmet logo and resaving it and it didn't work either.

I tried once with putting it in the AppData folder for a new league and it didn't seem to work. I'll try it again now.

I just keep getting nothing showing up for teams that I try to modify their logos. Very frustrating.

I did get it to work using MS Paint to modify logos as opposed to the program I had been using, GIMP. Success!

I am not sure what it was in GIMP that was making the pictures unviewable, but that seems to be the issue. Too bad, as it's a far better program than Paint.

The only difference I could see between the files I was creating with GIMP versus Paint was the bit depth on the GIMP files was 32, as opposed to the in-game files which are 24.. I don't know what bit depth is really, but would that have been what was causing my pictures to not show up?

Answered my own question, but yes through trial and error it seems clear my issue was bit depth. The files need to be 24 bit depth BMP and anything else won't work.
