Bringing pressure 3-4 vs 4-3

In this new version I am struggling to bring pressure from my Front-7 in passing situations (mp environment). What formation is best?? 4-3?? So you can control which players are pressuring and sending in zone / man coverage all but your defensive line men?? Or 3-4 by controling the defensive gameplan??

Is it relevant in the Defensive game plan which arrow is in "Red" for "blitz" plays (mp environment)? Or the engine takes into an account the orders in Game plan details instead?

The red arrow changes each time you click on the play, it just cycles who the likely blitzers are (not sure if the cycle is accurate or can be significantly altered by the dropdown for blitzer preference but that seems likely).

I will get back to you in a couple months about if pressure can be generated out of a attacking 34 as I have a couple MP teams that will certainly be trying that approach. One change I made in the roster building is to try to make sure all the LBs had at least some pass rush skill as even on the highest setting your best blitzer will only be going like 50% of the time from what others have commented.

Obviously I would love to see a patch where we could choose the blitzer or at least an option to blitz the weaker OL spots to go along with picking who does the blitzing.

Aren't blitzers just determined by the defensive playcall / formation? For example a 34 Man to Man Blitz one should be an OLB blitz in base defense and I think its a DB in Nickel and Dime set ups.

I've noticed that even with elite pass rushing skills I rarely get more than 10 sacks in a season from an OLB in a 34 set up. I did have a DE that put up consistent elite sack numbers in the 34 defense though. I prefer a 43 in FoF though because it just feels easier to find players that fit their natural roles at the LB and DL positions.

According to the help file, skill is also a factor (not just play call or formation) in determining which LB(s) blitz. And there is no doubt a dice roll involved as Ushikawa mentioned above.

In the 34, you usually have at least one linebacker blitzing – often the weak-side linebacker. In Front Office Football, you don’t decide specifically who blitzes on a play, but when a blitz is called, blitzers are assigned based on their position and their skill in rushing the passer. You can “tilt” the assignment by asking it to more heavily favor skill over position, the downside being that this may make you more vulnerable to passes aimed at receivers on that side of the field.
