Question Location, size and how to transfer FOF 8 saved game?

The search function didn't show an answer for this question. Apologies if I missed it.

I'm going to transfer an FOF save between 2 computers fairly often and I wanted to know the easiest way to do this.

First I need to know what files need transferred? Is there a master folder that needs moved or are there files in several places? I was going to use an external USB drive or cloud to transfer.

Next question is how large will a save game be? People who have done 50+ seasons, does the file size eventually become too large?

Last question, is this transfer as simple as copying folders or is there more to it?

Any insight or advice is much appreciated.

i usually zip the folder up before i move it. you can usually find it at: "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football Eight". The universe folder is what you want. It can get pretty big uncompressed. I am in year 2061 in my league and the size is 1.80 GB. I can zip it to 200-300 MB at the moment. Just to save size i also usually have that folder compressed, since it can get large. Windows has the folder compressed down to 558 MB, which saved me 1 GB. Not a lot now days I know, but still it can help.

Thank you! One other question, do I just copy the universe file to an external source then copy the universe file from the external source to the second PC? Is it that simple?

One other thing to note is that the file is hidden so I had to make it viewable. Here are the steps for that:

Right-click the “Start” button, then select “Control Panel“.
Go to “Appearance and Personalization“, then select “File Explorer Options“.
Click the “View” tab.
Scroll down a bit and change the “Hidden files and folders” setting to “Show hidden files, folders, and drives“.

At least this thread can be a reference for anyone else who wants to transfer their save.

Yes. That's all you need to do. Just to note its a folder that has a bunch of files in it, but otherwise yes.

Yes the appdata folder is hidden. you can type it into the address bar and it will still go to that folder though, even though it is hidden. but showing it works too.
