Promotion/Demotion Question

The 1st place team in my series won 9-0 today and jumped above the autopromote line for the time being. So, my question is when you look at HatStats is that exactly how things go?

For example, when it says team # 100 (your series winner) replaces Fill in Name Here FC, is the second team the one that drops down to your series? or is it some random process?

correct... let's say Joe Blo FC wins your series...

HatStats says:

98:...
99:...
100: Joe Blo v.123 1 50 10 40 21 replaces We Suk iv.12 8 10 50 40 3
101:...

We Suk would them replace Joe Blo in your series...

Thanks, I guess I should root for the Booze Hounds to autopromote then as they are the main competition, and if I am lucky enough to get a scrub D4 relegee I can win next season

NAIWF, you also could get very unlucky, and receive a unlucky relegated team that could be very strong. That would mean you'd be stuck for yet another year in Div V.

My point is that I will always take promotion if I can get it. I'll worry about how I'll play in the higher level when I get there. Your team is posting some good ratings, that I think could make you a middle of the pack div IV team. Nothing easy, but not an imediate candidate to relegation... And if it means relegation after a season, then so be it. That's how I see it...

I pretty much follow the same line of thought, Frogman. It was only re-enforced this season after watching how things have turned out with DK.

This is made even more probable in division V with the expansion. Now instead of worrying about the one new team coming in, you could end up with 5 new teams.

Funny you mention DK, Eilim. He's probably the best example of a very good team stuck in a series from hell. I don't know howthe filling up of div 6 teams is going in USA, but yeah, at some point you'll have to think that it could be a strong chance that you'd get a very competitive team from below and not only from over your head...

Frog Man, I'm not sure if I misread/misled you, but I have NO chance of moving up. I'm 6 points out of first and 27 behind on GD. Initially i thought it would be best to have my series # 1 team (Booze Hounds) stay in the group, but after looking things over he seems to be training playmaking and would strengthen his advantage over me as I'm training defense. If he's out, it leaves me and the Rough Riders battling for the top spot of the sure to be remaining teams. As far as the two teams that would auto demote, they were never run by humans anyway.

As of now, I'm not too worried about getting a bunch of strong D6 teams. By the time next season starts, I expect to be approaching 60 in my NSI on Normal, mid 50's on PIC. If I get lucky and get a bad D4 drop down, I could win the group next season. If not I'll have to wait until season 21, but I'm confident I can get out of D5 if I just keep doing what I have been.

sorry, I just read your initial post again. I thought you said YOU had just jumped over the autopromote line and were thinking about letting the other dude pass you and autopromote in your place. Makes more sense now...
