I agree -- seems it needs to be SOP for new teams.

As Aes and dacman said, I'd say train stamina until all your midfielders and defenders have reached passable+. Maybe identify your team's strength (have enough wingers?) and decide on your training plan. Keep an eye on the transfer wire at what your team might need. Check it out and get a feel on what you might want to go for and the price range you should be shelling out for before actually buying.
Oh, and read rules a few times. ![]() Quote:

I think it means he's quick to get fired... He's only poor.

1. What's up with your form? Lots of low form guys and I thought you started with passable form for everyone.
2. Unfortunately, you also need stamina training but let's wait on that: no use training stamina if you don't have all of your players in order. 3. Sell Patrick Oakland since you have 3 veteran wingers and none can play wingback (and he's the worst). However, you'll have to wait until Perault is healthy again. 4. You have a good mix of strikers: one solid passer and one solid scorer. 5. You need wingbacks. As middle defender, you might want to try Patten at offensive and see how his ratings go. Here's the rest of your lineup Keeper: Rossi Wingbacks: Lutz Middle Defender: Patten (offensive) Wingers: Martínez, Oakland Middies: Tejeiro, Waldron Forwards: Moore, Benedict Sell/Fire: Sams, Clay, Murphy, Bates, Anderson, Gagne , Krebs Shopping list: (NOTE: Wait a day to buy stuff- there isn't much out on the market until tomorrow when the youth pulls start hitting the market) Great news: you have a pretty young passable keeper so you don't need to drop the $80K most people do. You might want to spend $10-$15K on a backup inad keeper, but no more. You have little cash to spend and lots to spend it on. You definately need another wingback. Try to look for a pass/inad (def/wing) wingback who is in his mid 20s for less than $20K- you won't be able to find these prices for about a day, tho, when all the youth pulls glut the market and drive prices down. Then you need to get a better coach- but this can be an expesive endeavor. I would say fire away until you run across a passable or solid coach. But this might cost you a fortune- it's a delicate balance: don't put yourself in the poorhouse if you can't get a pass/solid one. Next comes the difficult part: you need 4 middies (I'll try to address this in the next message). Once you have the shopping taken care of, then you can worry about stamina training (so you might be able to start as early as this week). Also, don't overkill on the staff early or you will kill your money. But make sure you have what you need: 5:2 goaltending:assistant coaches, 1 physiotherapist (set training to 95%), 2 doctors (to help your winger back) and 3-5 spokespersons to bulk up that supporter crew and make them happy (your future income depends on keeping these people). SI

After you've got your coach, wingback, and keeper, see how much you have left. I suppose the easiest thing to say is: "look for 17yo inad or 18yo passable playmakers which cost less than $30-$50K depending on secondary skills". But getting a grasp on the market is difficult: look a lot before buying. Otherwise you will get the same buyers remorse we all get. You need one more starter on the midfield so you might want to try and find a 19yo solid PM with good stamina for under $100K and then get cheaper trainees like those I pointed out above.
Two things are certain: 1. You will see a player and think "I may never see a bargain like this again" and thusly get in a bidding war 2. Then you will get overzealous and overspend This is the way of things in Hattrick Also, eventually try to scrap together some sort of a B team with subs at defenders and strikers for friendlies so your starters don't get injured. This is not as big a deal as making sure you have your midfield trainees. Speaking of eventually, you will eventually sell Tejeiro, Waldron in a season or two once their PM abilities rise. People will overpay for them because they have good secondary skills and you will then be able to buy some players you really want. Oh, and I forgot: keep your youth pull contribution at $20K no matter what. Pull keepers until your squad is up to about inad because you might get some cheap cash from selling inad keepers (keepers because you only need one good stat as opposed to more than one typically for outfielders). SI
