Rate my sell
OK, I was trying to clean up my squad and decided to put Olvier Astoul on sell. He usually manages to get 2.5 stars while playing inner midfield for me.
Olivier Astoul - 24 years old (just edited) passable form excellent stamina (was part of my stamina training program when I arrived at the club) passable playmaking (just poped Friday) weak passing & scoring + poor everything else He sold for 51 000 € (same as $) What do you think about the price ? 1 - Too high. I got a steal 2 - Expected 3 - Too low. You could have made more (which would be good news since I have 2 similar players) Last edited by Alf : 05-26-2003 at 04:29 PM. |

Not knowing how old he is and what his other skils are, I'd say you got pretty much what is expected at this time of the season.
2 and 3 weeks ago, I sold two very similar players (18yo, passable playmaking, solid/excellent stamina), one for 75k and the other for 105k (WOOHOO!!). However, it looks like the market is softening up a little as I had another of my passable playamker (only passable stamina though) go without a bid and I started him only at 47,500. That was just this afternoon... I'd say that at 51k, you got a not bad/not good deal, just about what you'd expect... FM

then I'd say that for a 24yo, you got close to a steal. That's comparing it to my sales I've made lately...

Just looking at his stats you got a steal, but the fact he puts up **~ at Inner Mid means it wasn't a steal.

I would say a bit of a steal, but only because we know he just popped in playmaking. I would have expected 30-40K.
edit: Maybe I over-estimated Astoul's value. I just bought a 17yo pass PM (poor stamina, inad def) for 37K. You got a great price for your guy. Last edited by Masked : 05-26-2003 at 07:50 PM. |

I can usually get an 18 year old for that price, so I'd say it was a steal.

I have 3 18 yo passable playmakers, 1 at inad who will bump next week (also has passable passing and inad defense) and a 20 yo excellent middie who is 4 weeks from formidable.
EDIT: And in the process of picking up a 17 yo passable. Last edited by vex : 05-27-2003 at 11:35 AM. |

Alf, I know he's not really trainable, but other newbies don't. I honestly didn't expect anybody around here to jump on him, as we have a pretty good bunch of HT owners ![]() Good luck! FM

a 17 y.o will take 7 weeks to pop from a level to another (say passable to solid) with 8 assistants, training set at 100%, and a solid coach.
Then it's one extra week per extra year over 17, and an extra week per level under solid for your coach. Take a 19yo (still with a solid coach) and it will take him 9 weeks to pop. Take a 17 y.o that just popped to passable compared to a 19yo who just popped to passable. The 17 yo could be formidable by the end of next season, and he would only be 18 then. The 19yo would still be halfway between excellent and formidable and then would be 20 by that time... It's not that he's not trainable for hte short term, but he's not the kind of dude you want to pay the price I'm asking for for your long term training program. I bought a whole bunch of 19yo inadequate at the beginning of the season, because they were really cheap (talking no more than 6-8k U$) and I had no money. I trained most of them to passable with two weeks of stamina training and I'm now selling them for about 30-40k and even sold 2 about two weeks ago for 75, and 100k... With the money I made, I've now bought 17yo passable that I will keep for the long run (think at least a season) and will train them to at least formidable playmaking before I either decided to sell them or keep them to train thema little longer... A 18yo formidable can sell for 1 or 2 million... cha-ching!!! ![]() Hope the longwinded answer is what you were looking for ![]() FM
