Been over to the Moo3 forums lately? No code patch yet, and just as flamey as ever.
What a debacle. |

Flashback to the GenCon game fair of 2001, in Milwaukee. Infogrames had a booth there, and were showing previews of their two new games that were going to revolutionize the entire genre of turn-based strategy: MOO 3 and Civ III. I was duly impressed
Yeah, and we all know how that turned out. Looking back, it's almost comical, in a bittersweet sort of way, how two franchises that had given tons of great gameplay met their critical demise at the hands of the same developer at the same time.

Infogrames is a publisher. They do not develop games.
Civ 3 was developed by Firaxis. Moo 3 was developed by Quicksilver(?)

It was indeed developed by Quicksilver. "Developed" is a pretty generous term for what they did with it, however. ![]() |

So I decided to get this at the nice low price they were offering it
![]() It came in today, and I have been playing it some. I actually don't have a huge problem with it. My type of game. Let it run itself , turn based while I watch baseball ![]() |

This is why the PC has lost such ground to consoles. Soul Caliber 2 recently came out over here. I haven't picked it up yet. But I'll still guaruntee that all the features on the box will be in the game and, also, that the gaming experience will not be markedly different than what customers expect ( being able to hack each other up for hours on end ). In addition, I'll bet that it'll work right out of the box.

I love CIv 3 too. Their multiplayer version when it came out stunk because of all the bugs, but I found it very usable on a lOcal LAN.
Thats the type of game I really enjoy. |
