This game need a lot of QOL improvements
First of all, I love the FOF games. I just fired up FOF8 last week and was messing around in season 2090 or something. Just a great game.
Needless to say I was quite excited when FOF9 popped up as I thought this franchise was dead in the water. Now, after DL and doing the crazy level of work to just get the teams names correct, I am running into problems left and right. Im not sure how everyone played, but the most important screen for me in FOF 8 was the roster w/Scouting. That showed everything I needed in one screen. Now, whenever there is an injury, I need to pop between the Injury tab and the basic tab. Then back to try and get the guy deactivate. Also, when I hover over the player to de activate, you get the pop up and sometimes your mouse moves and you deactivate the wrong player. I do like the idea of just left clicking to deactivate, but as it is now it seems WAY more cumbersome than 8. Also without going back to the injury screen you can't tell if an injured guy is not activated as they are red and there is no color shade that is "Hurt and Deactivated". It just makes it hard. As of now there seems to be a lot more clicking to get things done. I realize this is early and I am fighting years of muscle memory with FOF8, but I do feel like things need to be streamlined a bit. Much respect Jim, im sure this game will be great as everyone gets used to the UI, but just wanted to point out some frustrations, and see if anyone can tell me Im doing things very wrong ![]() |

Doc - posted this on another thread.
Active/Inactive display. I found that theres an issue with an injured player being displayed as inactive. Their name remains red due to the injury even if you do deactivate them. Then as you scrub your roster to ensure you have your 47 aligned the only way you can ensure they are inactive is to go to the player card and check the action drop down. It would be nice/easier if there was a way to show they are injured as well as being inactive like a non-injured player just from the roster screen. * Disregard. Just use the drop down "Filter" on the roster page. For some reason I had completely disregarded it. |

Two things I would love to customize.
1. Changing the state picture on the player page to the team picture. The state picture is an interesting choice. Different strokes for different folks but the ability to easily change it would be really good. 2. As someone who doesn't call plays, I would love to customize the play diagram during the game to be much smaller so that the field and the game log will be bigger similar to FOF8. Again, the key is not to change it but to make it easy to customize to suit one's needs. Last edited by lanruz234 : 11-03-2023 at 02:42 PM. |

I doubt Jim would ever do it but I have a great template and have created a "lot" of custom fields. It would be great to have one that can be customized, end zones, etc., much like what DDSPF allows but it doesn't have to be that large. Last edited by NawlinsFan : 11-03-2023 at 02:31 PM. |
