Ok, so I have a dilemma. If I beat the team I'm playing this week, I'll be within 3 points of him for first place in the standings. I am reasonably sure that I will not lose again this year. However, I am also reasonably sure that he won't lose again either. There is a team in my series who I just played who is new. He's better than the 4 really terrible teams in my series, but not as good as the top three because his midfield is terrible. Since I can afford to do it, would it be immoral to 'loan' him a pair of my middies for the week he plays my opponent? I haven't even asked him if he wants to, so I don't even know if he'd go for it. What do you guys think?

I would have to say it's immoral. At the least it's a violation of the spirit of the game.

On a side issue, what would the team gain from doing this with you?

It's clearly not a "fair" move. Helping load up a team so they can take down your main rival? Tell me how it can be considered moral.

I say do it. It is not immoral, it is smart.

Of course, if I was him I would just keep your players after the game. He gets 2 players, why give them back?

I'm fairly certain both of them could get banned for something like that if it was reported, which is pretty silly especially when we have a GM on the board.

I would say not the way the game is to be played. I think that you could be playing with fire. All it would take would be for that team to complain, and you would be toast.

Only way you could loan them is to put them on the transfer mkt. At which point, if they're cheap, anybody could get them. What would differentiate your IM from any other on the market? He wouldn't end up with the players, you'd loose 2 of your IM's. Don't get schemey

If it were done, it would have to be done as someone pointed out, on the transfer market, and would be done in the nature of a trade, and both bids would be for a rather inflated amount relative to the players' value. As to what the other player gets, he'll get a much better chance to win against one of the top teams in the division, helping team spirit, supporter and sponsor moods, and it will also help him climb out of the relegation zone.

Although I don't know how it works in the real world of soccer, I know that players are put on loan at times; I was fairly certain it didn't work quite like this, but it was actually what gave me the idea.

I honestly don't think this would be cheating...underhanded, maybe, but not cheating. Perhaps this is just my reaction because I don't want my idea associated with cheating...I don't consider myself a cheater, and I would never do so.

I obviously posted this with a little reservation, since if I didn't think it might be 'wrong' then I wouldn't have to ask. I'm not going to do it, because I do think it is wrong. However, I think that cheating is too strong a word for it (although good moral debate...if the rules don't say something, but you're pretty sure it's wrong, why is it different than cheating?). The idea of doing it just doesn't sit right, and your responses helped me get to that decision. Thanks guys.

It would be cheating. If you were to do this you would be fined.

Remember, it´s not only prohibited to have several teams but also to "help" friends or family by buying players at inflated prices.

I need to talk to GM-George about "borrowing" some of his B team for some action against the Superstars.

In essence, it's a transaction. In as much as daytrading is frowned on, this would be to, I believe.

Imagine having the Rams "loan" Marshall Faulk to another team to beat the 49ers. Imagine Sammy Sosa joining the Giants to beat the Cardinals down the stretch. I'd love to beat the Superstars and knock them down a peg, but it wouldn't be right to make them face an all star team of D4.43 each week to make it. That may be a little far fetched, but what you propose would set precedent for such action.

Sounds great on paper, but that's where it should be left.

There is more to it than being frowned on like daytrading. A transaction of this nature requires GM approval. Unless the other team is offering some equally skilled players or some equally valued young prospects, it would never be approved. If this transaction took place without GM approval it would be taken as cheating when all the reports that would surely be filed came in.

Hi I was out of town, Don't do it at the very least you would get a bit fat fine for overpriced transfers. Loaning of players and Lap Loans (loaning money) are not allowed in Hattrick and while I agree cheating is too strong of a word it is simply against the rules due to being overpriced.

Id just look at it this way. Wouldnt you be pissed if someone did that to you? I know I would, and I wouldnt think it was very fair.
