You forget to replace him, and realize his auction ends before the match and he is bought?

Would the sub come in the game and replace him or would I start short manned?

Also, what would happen if he gets into a bidding war, and it takes it past match time?

If it goes past match time, he'll play, else your sub will play and you'll start with a short bench.

You could always bid on him and get that past the match time and hope someone outbids you.
