I think I'm only posting this now because I need a HT fix and HT being in a lull til 330 HT time, I've been wondering...

Right now I'm training PM. When I'm done this and I have my players at whatever level they'll be at, and am ready to move on, what happens to the PM skills I've trained? Do they drop? Or do they maintain if I keep the people playing?

I don't think I understand how well-rounded teams are built with young players if you spend forever and a day training only one skill set...

I'm confused.

They don't lose their skills if you don't train them unless they are old.

As for the well rounded teams, generally what they do is train one skill forever, sell off when the player is worth a million or two dollars and buy the rest of the positions that way. At least that is what I hope to do in the future.

exactly how The Afoci said, and regarding well rounded team, ditto that too.

Think about it, we saw an 18 y.o excellent plymaker being sold for 510k a few days ago, think about how much a 18 y.o formidable or a 19 y.o brilliant would sell for... With the money you make from that sale, you can then shop for other needs on your team...

A player's skill will not drop until they reach the age of 28 (i think that is right) then it will slowly decline...I have a few players well over 28 and have only had one player drop a level in skill and it was for a skill that was not even important to him. As for getting a well rounded team The Afoci basically said it right- except you dont have to wait that long to sell them, that is the best way to make money long term but to get the short term fix buy some 17 year old inadequates for pretty cheap train them up to solid then sell them for over $100k. Use that money to buy other positions and then once you are happy with your team buy some players that you would like to train very long term- ones that you could sell for over a million. Basically it is best to pick one thing and train it for a very very very long time.

edit: basically what the afoci and frogman said....
also FrogMan good luck in our friendly next week- try not to hurt any of my players this time :p :D

Good luck to you too. I'll try and tell my guys to go easy but sometimes they're out of control :)

Once we're done with that home-and-home series, your team will be the only team I will have faced three times.

Note to everyone: I've got these two games with Doug (at my place next week and his place the following week) and will be looking for another home-and-home series with a fellow FOFCer. PM me if you're interested...
