View Full Version : Bidding Wars - Yeah

After a nearly a season of training, Peter Gallant finally popped to passable on Thursday. Since I now have younger trainees who have decent, although not quite as good, secondaries, I decided to sell him off.

Friday morning, I listed him with an opening bid of 50K, an amount I thought a bit ambitious for this late in the season.

As of this morning, 6 teams have already bid on him, several multiple times, and have driven his price up to $120,001. The bidding does not end until tomorrow, but I would be quite suprised to see him raised again.

I doubt training him for another 10-12 weeks and selling him as a 20 yo solid would have netted me anymore money. Nice to finally have a significant bidding war work for me.

Wonders if I am severely underestimating his market value...

Here are his stats:

Peter Gallant (10818945)
19 years, passable form, healthy

A pleasant guy who is balanced and honest.
Has wretched experience and weak leadership abilities.

Speciality: Powerful

Nationality: Schweiz
Assessed value: 58 000 US$

Stamina: solid Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: passable Passing: inadequate
Winger: wretched Defending: inadequate
Scoring: poor Set Pieces: wretched

My guess is he is one of the few who meet people's requirements for minimum secondary skills when they search. Nice to get a raise though.

I was in a similar circumstance. I sold my 17yr old passable scorer youth pull. Set him at 5k, and he went all the way up to $8k! Oh, wait, nevermind. That was rather pathetic, wasn't it.

I agree with damnMikeBrown- when some people search for a midfielder they probably put the secondaries at atleast inadequate and that probably helped generate a lot of interest in him.

Also- I saw you had put in a few bids for my passable keeper who ended earlier today...You and another FOFCer had placed a bid (i can't remeber exactly who it was right now). It would have been nice to send him to another FOFC team but oh well.

It was me, I was going to switch him with the guy I have now, but once the price went over $70,000, I didn't think I'd be able to make a profit by selling the guy I have now.

My starting keeper went down for 5 weeks in the last league match so I've been on the lookout for a replacement. I figured I wouldn't get your guy since I couldn't be online when the bidding ended. Either I would get him for a good price or help drive up the price for you.
