View Full Version : Clinched division title, Now what?

I'm looking for some advice on what to do. My team (Ajax Hawks, 70556) demolished the second last placed club in the division 8-1 to clinch the division title and do wonders for my goal difference. I now have a +46 on goal difference.

I'm looking for opinions on how to treat the last two games. The current promotion level line has teams that are tied with mine on points with 33 but have two less goals with +44. So as things stand, it looks like I am in line for automatic promotion. This is the first time this season that I have crossed the dividing line.

Do I PIC the last couple of games and then MOTS a promotion playoff game? Or should I leave things at normal, play out the season and see what happens? A third option would be to MOTS my remaining away game in hopes of getting a big win and then hoping for a solid win with my last home game of the season.

The remaining away game is against the second place team--a team that has been coming on as the season has progressed.

depending on your Team Spirit :

MOTS next game
fire coach
MOTS last game

I have a 3 points lead over autopromotion level (meaning I need 4 points to secure autopromote), but the 33 points team have better goal differential than me. So I'm going to do : MOTS - fire coach - MOTS

what do you have for a coach? I wouldn't MOTS-fire-MOTS if I had a great coach.

My coach is passable & defensive minded. I'd rather be in DIII and have a mediocre coach (can still upgrade) than in DIV with a great coach.

If you win your last two games, I'm sure some teams above you will lose and put you above to auto-promotion line. Still, you should plan as if you're going to have to play a qualifying match. If you can definitely win while PIC'ing, I would PIC the next two games.

That way you either will be auto-promoting with great team spirit, or in great shape for a qualifying match.

You probably want to wait until hattstats updates the auto promotion table before you make your decision. You might be really close to auto-promotion, more information can only help your decision making.

I have a solid coach who is defensive-minded. Playing a 3-5-2, we've only given up 5 goals in 12 games.

Our current team spirit is composed.

Unless you have a bunch of money in reserve and are willing to hunt for a new coach I wouldn't MOTS-fire-MOTS

you're above the line. So just win the next 2 games.

Yeah, what he said. Then sit back and watch the money roll in and prepare for Div IV :D
