I rarely visit www.gonegold.com but I wanted to check a few titles out. On the well-advertised Release Page, it has not been updated since 2/10/03 and the Games for 2003 had not been updated since late 2002. Was I looking in the wrong place? It appears that the site is still active (even their own OOTP league!) but if magazines and the public use that site to see what's coming, shouldn't it be more up to date?

It falls in and out up being update quite frequently. The owner of the page, can't remember his name, seems to have a lot of personal/medical problems, so he does what he can when he can.

It's fell off quite a bit over the last year.

I absolutely love Gone Gold!

Unfortunately now for different reasons than I loved it last year. It's no longer the place to go to hear about release dates and all the new games, but Night Call by "Bill" (if you read the site you know why I have the quotations there) is one of the best written columns on the net today, and he writes 3 times a week.

The forum there is also a great place, you can talk about PC and console games without fear of all the fanboys dragging every thread into a flame war. The age and maturity level of the posters definitely skews higher on that forum.

Hopefully Rich's health improves, he's a really good guy and his site would probably be #2 in my rotation.

Yes, maybe I should have elaborated. #1 being this site. :) And to apologize I'll post the rest of my top 5.

1) FOFCentral.com
2) www.gonegold.com
3) www.gamespot.com
4) www.mikeportnoy.com (drummer for Dream Theater which is my favorite band and the site also has a great forum)
5) www.operationsports.com (great summary site to read about sports games)

Rich LaPorte has a lot of physical problems and just hasn't been able to do much with the site of late. Andy, Bill and JMDiller does most of the front page stuff nowadays, I think. The tie with the magazine had been severed for awhile now.

If you have questions, you could probably get them answered in the Road To Gold section of the Forum.
