View Full Version : what coach is best for ONE big match?

I just fired my coach to reset team spirit in preperation for my absolute must-win final game. A loss and I finish second, a tie or win and I'm the champ and heading to a qualification match.

Frankly, I don't care much about the qualification match as I'm starting to think I won't be ready for D4. Don't get me wrong - I'll try to win the qualification match (if i'm in it), but I'm not going to committ suicide if I lose it.

all that being said, what's most important for 1 single match? The coach's overall talent level (i.e. weak vs. passable) or his experience and leadership?

On my first coach firing I got this guy:

Ed Huey (13358900)
35 years, disastrous form, healthy
A weak coach who is defensive minded
A pleasant guy who is calm and honest.
Has brilliant experience and passable leadership abilities.

Should I keep him for this big game, or will I be better off with a passable coach with lesser experience & leadership?

edit: Since I not going to go all-out for the qualifier, whoever I take into this last regular season match will presumably be my coach for next season.

Coaching skill and experience won't matter in your game. I would probably look for an attacking coach with high leadership if i was going to hire a coach to help me win a match.

experience only matters if you're going to play him.
leadership I doubt will matter much, don't see it hitting TS worth noticing.
skill (weak/pass/etc) only matters for training

for one match, I don't think it matters aside from whether you want an offensive or defensive if you're going to fire him.

I threw in leadership just because every bit of TS will help.

Dude, there's no way you are losing this game! I just beat this team 5-0 with PIC and you are better then me. Don't worry about. MOTS if you are worried and just clobber them 7-0. Then you can get a new coach for the qualifier.

I'd personally PIC this match and the team will be hyped for the qualifier. There's no chacne you'll lose this game. Trust me.

The cliffs haven't check his/her team in a over a month and the lineup it puts in is pretty pathetic. I wouldn't be surpirsed if team moral for them is way down too.

this is going to sound really stupid, but I thought I was playing #2 team eiffeltowerpower next week. Mental note: check the fixtures closely next time before going on coach-firing spree.

I hope you qualify because I really don't want to play you again and rack up 4-5 yellow cards a game :)

seriously! your team was out of control in that one. I'm not too fond of playing you either, that was my best performance ever (NSI ratings-wise) and it was a 1-1 draw. :(
