With the season comming to a close a have a few questions about what to expect in the offseason.

Should I MOTS my last game?(I am playing the #1 team in the league. no promotion is at stake and standing will not be affected win or lose, but i still want to beat him) Will team spirit reset before the start of the new season?

Do Yellow cards reset in the offseason?

How many friendlys do we play in the offseason and how much training time do we get in before 1st game if next season?

Whats the best way to spend any extra money after the season? ie..stadium upgrade, buy new players?

How is the transfer market economy in the offseason..buyers market vs sellers market?

Thanks for any info,
Jets

I have a question, too. I was planning on doing the traditional stamina training in the offseason (because it's the only training that can affect the whole team when you are only playing one game per week), but my team's form is, in general, in the toilet. Should I scrap the stamina idea, or bite the bullet and (ugh) train general the first week that I can return to "normal" training?

The MOTS depends on if you are playing a qualification match next week. If so, I wouldn't MOTS...I would PIC him. Take the loss and get ready for the promotion game that's much more important.

No Qualification for me....but if i beat him there is a chance he might have to play one.

I have decided to MOTS this weeks game against TCB(#2 team in my series), just because I like to cause havok.

I know the qualification match I have to play will be deadly, but I look at it like this.

Yes, I will lose 10% of my supporters if I get demoted, I also know the money won't come in as fast, but I do know that with my current squad, D VI would be fairly easy.

I will be MOTS the qual game cause everything resets in the offseason.

MOTS and wreck havok upon his ending!

Yellow cards reset.

From what I understand, TS resets in the offseason as well.

Two friendlies in the offseason, if I'm not mistaken. Two weeks of training...I'd suggest stamina, since it trains everyone on your team.

Money is up to you, I can't tell you how to spend that. Same on the market, maybe it goes down a smidge, but I highly doubt that.

Duke, I'd stay with stamina, then if you absolutely feel like it, train general for a week or so before going back to your bread and butter training.

My two cents, and Jerome Bettis bobblehead are at stake.

I plan on training stamina. I won't train general since my experiance with it hasnt helped at all. Stamina usually helped my form if anything. I also might do a week of set pieces. Might.

Here's a schedule of events for offseason that I posted in another thread a week or 2 ago...

03/07/06 league match (19.14)
03/07/09 friendly match
03/07/13 qualification matches (for teams who have one, otherwise, no game for you team)
03/07/14-13 promotions/relegations happen
03/07/14-19 schedules for season 20 are available
03/07/14-19 fan club adjustments (+10% for promotion, -10% for demotion)
03/07/14-19 fan club membership fees ($30 per fan, after adjustment)
03/07/14-19 teams spirit, confidence, sponsors, and supporters spirit all reset
03/07/16 friendly
03/07/19 first weekly update of new season (see #1 below)
03/07/20 Sunday off (no match)
03/07/20 global birthday (all players except the current week's
youth pull will age one year)
03/07/23 National Cup round 1
03/07/27 league match (20.01)

(1) You should hire some spokesperson before that date. This is the first weekly economic update after the sponsors spirit reset and your I've read at many places that this is when you should have the most spokepersons you can afford, at least for the first 5 to 6 weeks.

If anybody thinks there's something wrong with that schedule or if you see anything missing, let me know and I can edit it.

Given that schedule, there's only one friendly in the offseason, the other Wednesday night game is you first National Cuip game.

About MOTS or not MOTS, I say, MOTS ALL THE WAY!!! If you know you won't have a qualification match, then your upcoming league match is your last competition match of the season (until the team spirit resets right before the first round of National Cups), so you have nothing to lose and everything to win by MOTSing that game.

I have clinched my league title and will play yet another bot team that usually puts up a 30 NSI, but I will MOTS THE HELL AWAY!!! If only to know what my "A" team is capable of in MOTS situation... :)

About stamina or general, remember that if your players hidden form rating (the one they tend to, which you don't see) is in the crapper, there's not much you can do about it. Even if you train general, you'll a one week increase, but your players' form is most likely to go down again after a week or 2...

Cool, I figured I'd just gut it up with the stamina. I don't expect to promote next season anyway, so if my team form is a bit low the first couple weeks, it is not going to be make or break.

Another question, though, from your schedule, it looks like those with qualification matches only have one week with only one game. So if I'm playing a relegation match, that means I should probably only train stamina one week, correct?

Duke, that is correct. If you have a qualification match, then you only have one week without a Sunday match...

Good luck in your relegation match!

Thanks! I'm in DV, and I should be one of the higher ranked DV teams playing a qualification match (I have 18 points), so I'm pretty confident that I'll be playing a worthless bot team. Of course, with my luck I'll play a team that was taken over 3 weeks ago, and has been improved to Inad midfield or something. ;)

Question on Stamina: I have a few starters who are already at excellent stamina. If I train stamina can it go any higher then excellent? Also like other skills, can there be a guy who is a "high" excellent and "low" excellent in stamina?

Does stamina have a flux like form? Can the increase in stamina through training be lost during the season or affected by training form?

You can have stamina has high as formidable, I have one inner mid who has formidable stamina. It's been said that formidable stamina is difficult for the player to maintain and thus could drop to excellent if you don't train stamina again for many weeks. My player has been at formidable since last offseason.

That being said, the drop from formidable to excellent is the only one that should happen. The stamina level of your players is like other skills, this means that unlike form, it doesn't fluctuate randomly or otherwise and your players shouldn't lose stamina during the course of the season. That is true for player younger than 27 years old.

Finally, yes, I would assume there are high and low stamina levels.

This is a total guess, as I have no empirical evidence to back it up being my first HT season:
*prize money
* season ticket money
* promotion -- need to upgrade
* older and retiring players

-- seem to make me think it would be a sellers market. However, factors such as no leage match income for two weeks and relegated teams dumping talent could offset this? Anyone have experience or observations to confirm or deny this theory?

Ronnie, I assume you are making reference to the first youth pulls of the season, the ones pulled the Saturday right before the "aging" Sunday. These youth pulls don't age, so if you pull and excellent 17y.o. (almost any skills) on that youth pull, that is like winning the lottery :)
