Ok, so since I've gotten a little bit more addicted to the game, and have begun to take it a little more serious, I've decided to start breeding, oops, training forwards. I was basically going to run a 3-5-2 in league play, and a 3-4-3 in friendlies to get the best mix of play vs players exposed. I was also going to try a system of player rotation, so that I could potentially raise more players over a slightly longer time table. However, I don't like confusion in games, it scares me as something that could cost me a potential run at a title or significant money rewards, plus I want to win :) So, I was debating running the 3-4-3 in both matches, but was wondering if this would severely limit my ability to compete with the big boys. Just curious to get some other opinions.

if you always play 3-4-3 in friendlied and 3-5-2 in league play, you'll never encounter confusion. You'll always alternate between solid and excellent in those two formations...

Sounds like a solid plan to me. So this would mean that basically you could train 5 forwards at a time, no?

Yep. I don't think I could bear to play 3-4-3 in cup games though.

Does it matter if you PIC or MOTS during cup games? Or are they treated like friendlies?

What's the point of cup games? Is there money involved?

I am running a 3-4-3 on both league and friendly matches, giving me 6 forwards trained.

I have bolstered the 3 defenders with a passable goalie that is putting up right now 2.5 stars consistently.

My midfield when they are on, are posting 2 stars right now. For my series this is decent, not the best but decent. My Forwards at one point in time was around 2.5 stars as well. I needed some money so I sold some of my better forwards.

It's worth it to run the 3-4-3, I do it with 1 WG and 3 MF's though.

You just need to build the support structure around it.

Cup matches are competition matches, so yes, just like league matches, PIC and MOTS are in full force. This means you can PIC your first cup match (what almost everybody will be doing, since you'll probably play a bot team in round 1).

Crowd revenues are split 2/3 to the home team and 1/3 to the visiting team. That way, if you get to the 4th round or so of the cup, it means you could get some significant sums of money in addition to your regular league game crowd revenue...

Cup money is great. I made over 150k off of my three home games plus whatever the two road games gave me.

It great being a division 6 cup team because you get a home game which basically means you get an instant sell out.
