My last youth pull was a passable keeper who I immediately put on the market hoping to reduce some of my debt, listed him at 45k and ended up selling him for 50k to a team from Argentina. They immediately listed him for $150k, and now have a bid on him.
I kind of wish I could have gotten that much for him, being it would have come very close to taking me out of debt, but I guess at least I'll still get some money off him.
Yep. I know how that goes. I'm coming to the conclusion that it's best to over price guys and if they don't sell, just put them back up instead of trying to price them low and hoping there's a bidding war.

Especially this time of year. I have a guy out for 85K that I'm hoping to get 100K for, but who knows, the way things have gone.

Bee, I've come to the same conclusion. I've sold all my overpriced inner mid trainee, even when I put a passable 19 yo at 90k. There's always a newbie somewhere who will like your player and will put a bid on him. And if nobody bids on him, you can still put him back out there...

I like when people undervalue their wares :D
I just picked up a solid 18 yo winger for 24K and a 29 yo excellent stamina/solid PM for 43 K. Maybe the second guy won't pan out, but 67K for two solid players isn't too bad considering everyone else I've targetted with solid PM has sold for about double that combined total.
I'm still shocked my untrainable excellent defender went for 510K. The sad thing is, if I'd listed him at 300K, I *may* have only gotten about 315 or 320 instead.

Yeah, I'm with the rest of the crowd here... I've priced guys too low in hopes of generating bidding wars, and just ended up selling them too cheap. It sucks.

IMO Argentina is the most over priced market in HT. Even worse then Sweden.

What about Romania? Have you checked some of their crap?

I've actually always seemed to find some good deals in Romania. Just last week I picked up a solid CD from there for 123k and resold him for 178.

I have trained keepers for my half season. I buy inads with passable form cuz I know exactly when they pop. I try to buy 2 a week, play each in 1 game. They always pop, and I list them immediately. I list them at 90-100k (started at 70k but saw they would usually go for much more) and have had to relist only twice. Most I got, I think, was 115k.

Whenever I do this I always list them at 100k. It does work better earlier in the season though. I can see using 90k right now. The most I've got for the player has been 148k. It was funny because I listed the guy at 120k and didn't get any bids. When I relisted him at 100k it started a bidding war. This can be a good way of getting out of debt if you are in trouble. If you do 2 guys per week you can bring in over 100k in profit each week. Doing both eliminates any permanent benefit from the training though so I don't usually do that. I prefer to use one main keeper trainee and then buy and sell in the other keeper slot.

do you buy an inad or a passable for the weekly 'pop'?

It depends what you can find for what price. Ideally it would be better to get a passable that is about to pop but the profit depends more on whether you can start a bidding war. The passable tends to cost in the 100k-130k range because other people realize he is about to bump as well. You can usually sell the solid for atleast 200k. The inadequate will run you 25k-40k and you should be able to sell for 100k. When you take out 10% of the sale price, the amount earned can be fairly similar although there is more potential to get a little extra on the sale for the keeper that bumps to solid.
