OK, who doesn't have a solid and is going to try to get one before the new rules begin?

Should one wait until the end of the week, or does it matter after the promotion game is over?

...bump

27 people looked in this thread, and noone has a response. That sucks for me, I guess. :(

I was actually just wondering the same thing. I think I'll take one more stab at getting a better coach before the next season starts, perhaps yet tonight. :)

Any other considerations I should, uh, consider, before taking the plunge?

I've wasted 160,000 on coaches already, and even though I've got that much in the black, I'd rather not waste any before I find out how they're changing coaches.

The possibility that solid coaches would have really high wages, as well as the random element that bites me in the ass EVERY time has me a bit hesitant to take a chance on a new coach.

Last time I tried for a solid I spent 150K before I ever saw another inadequate coach. However your post inspired me to try again for at least a passable coach. Luckily I got one after 3 tries.

To answer your question, no, I will stick with my new passable. Even if I had the extra money I would still rather wait and hear how the new system will work.

I have a passable which I plan on keeping until we see how the new system works. The chances of wasting huge amounts of money is just a little to intimidating to me right now with my cash situation.

I'm right there with you. I'd rather pick up a new player or two with the end-of-season money my team earned rather than flush it down the toilet looking for a coach better than my current passable one.

I wish I had a passable coach. :(

Ditto. Over the last two seasons I've sent $150k down the drain and the best I've done is inadequate. I'm kinda itching to try again, but so far I've resisted the temptation so's I can try to enhance my stadium. But it's hard to resist...

Must...not...click...fire...coach...button...must...resist...

I couldn't resist. After blowing through another $100k, I've now got a passable coach. $250k total.

Ugh.

I...I just couldn't...I just couldn't stop hitting the "fire coach" button...it felt so good...

Fonz-
From the looks of things about the new coach pricing structure, 350k doesn't seem that bad...

Holy crap! Thanks thealmighty. Without this thread I might not have been inspired to try to upgrade back to a passable coach. That 30K I just spent looks a lot better than the $757,100 it would cost to get a passable today.

Yeah, it appears I actually lucked out a bit. I got my passable coach for half price.

Thank god for poor impulse control!
