Hello and welcome to the second season of White Sox Pride. I hope to attract a larger audience now after auto-promoting into IV.7. After going 12-0-2 last season, we just made it above the autopromo line, and it seemed to work out better than I had expected. In upcoming posts I will go over my team, goals, opponants, and some predictions. I also plan to be more detailed in this dynasty than I was in my first. I hope you enjoy my dynasty, and good luck to all other Hattrick managers.

I recieved the 175k bonus money at the end of the season and that finally put me back in black. I dont expect this to last long because I need to find a good winger to boost my attack if I want to compete. I also need to upgrade my stadium.
After finally breaching the 1000 supporters mark, a stadium around 27k seats will be needed. This would be a good upgrade to last a season or two, plus it would allow me to pull in some extra cash.
Heres my current stadium:
Total capacity: 16300
Terraces: 11000
Basic seating: 3500
Seats under roof: 1500
Seats in VIP boxes: 300
My Future Stadium:
Total Capacity: 25500
Terraces: 16,000
Basic Seating: 6250
Seats Under Roof: 2500
Seats in VIP Boxes: 750
Total Costs for improvement: $248,750
Extra Income (Not Including Maintainance): $53,500
Maximum Income (Not Including Maintinance): 136,500
That would put me right back into some heavy debt, but with the additional income I would, hypothetically, pay for it in around 2 months, possibly sooner with Cup games.

The Players
(Ages shown after name and will be their age after season 20's gain.
Keeper
Jerald Obrien 20
-Keeper: Solid
My first good youth pull. One week of training and he hit Solid. At very low solid he puts up a solid 3 star performance every game.
Raúl Ramos 22
-Keeper: Inadequate
Just picked him up for 20k. Hes a very high Inadequate valued at 143k. I may do 1 week of GK training just to get him to pop.
Defenders
I have no natural Wing Backs so I won't even bother listing their winger skills.
Bozhidar Petkov 19
-Defending: Passable
One of my first purchases. I trained him to low-mid Passable and then switched my training. He's putting up 2.5 stars in High Solid+ form.
Chad Tate 26
-Defending: Passable
Original member of the team. Puts up 2.5 stars in Passable+ form.
Darwin Rivera 25
-Defending: Passable
-Passing: Passable
Offseason Purchase to replace my old solid defender's spot. His Passing will help me out now with the counter-attack tactic once its introduced.
Erick Almgard 19
-Defending: Inadequate
My backup. Solid 2 star performances from him.
Overall an average Defense, I hope to put up Formidables across the board with the new increase from defensive coaches.
Midfielders
Tim Baugh 20
-Stamina: Passable
-Playmaking: Solid
-Passing: Weak
-Defending: Weak
My first player trained to over 100k. Picked him up for 10k, trained him up and now he puts up 2.5 stars.
Marc Good 20
-Stamina: Solid
-Playmaking: Passable
-Passing: Weak
-Defending: Inadequate
He's at about mid Passable PM and high Inadequate Defending.
Stephan Bjorken 20
-Stamina: Passable
-Playmaking: Solid
-Passing: Weak
-Defending: Weak
Another good pickup, just popped to Solid PM.
I still need another trainee or two for Playmaking. Unfortunately I'm a cheap ass and I end up losing in bidding wars.
Wingers
Lui Gah-Fat 21
-Stamina: Excellent
-Winger: Passable
-Playmaking: Weak
2.5 stars when played offensively and in Passable+ form.
Jan Hansson 22
-Stamina: Excellent
-Winger: Passable
-Playmaking: Passable
2 Stars when played Towards Middle.
Forwards
David Dewitt 23
-Scoring: Solid
-Passing: Weak
He's been putting up a 3 star performance lately, but usually hovers around a high 2.5.
Frank Merrill 29
-Scoring: Passable
-Passing: Weak
2.5 Star Forward, hes getting pretty old though..
Those were pretty much the best on my team. I'm going to need much improving if I want to compete well.
My Best Ratings:
These are the best ratings I expect to see with these players in their current form.
Midfield: Inadequate (at home)
Left Side Defense: Formidable
Central Side Defense: Formidable
Right Side Defense: Formidable
Left Side Attack: Solid
Central Attack: Solid
Right Side Attack: Weak
I just like to imagine if I had an attacking coach.. Solid Defense and Formidable attacks..
My Coach
Dan Rush
43 years, inadequate form, healthy
A passable coach who is defensive minded
A sympathetic guy who is balanced and honest.
Has brilliant experience and passable leadership abilities.
I REALLY hate how if theyve been a trainer once they cant be one again.. Just imagine.. I could possibly afford a Excellent Coach. Well with the current prices even Brilliant experience wouldnt lower the price that much. He'll have to do for the time being. Stupid Hattrick..

Well I'm back again. I've been a little busy and have fallen back on my reports a bit.
Anyway I have made only one transfer in the offseason. That is the purchase of a Solid winger.
Johan Ulfsten
72 000 US$, 18 years, passable form
Has disastrous experience and weak leadership abilities [Powerful]
Stamina: inadequate Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: weak
Winger: solid Defending: poor
Scoring: poor Set Pieces: wretched
He cost me 66k, a bit more than I was willing to spend. His secondaries aren't all that great, but since I'm training PM I can hopefully get him up to around Passable Playmaking then sell him. He will hopefully help my attack some because right now I really cant compete.
I have one Starting Player injured now. Hes my second best defender, but with only 3 Passable Defenders, this is a pretty big blow. He will be out for another 4 weeks, sigh..
Training
This week I trained Stamina. Player form took a big blow. My keeper form is below Passable for the first time in about 6 weeks. Im probably going to train General with my starters this week in preparation for my first league match.
Inner Midfielder Stamina:
Baugh - Excellent
Good - Excellent
Bjorken - Solid
Winger Stamina:
Ulfsten - Inadequate
Hansson - Excellent
Youth Pull
Werner Sullivan
39 000 US$, 18 years, passable form
Has disastrous experience and poor leadership abilities [Head]
Stamina: weak Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: passable Passing: poor
Winger: weak Defending: wretched
Scoring: inadequate Set Pieces: poor
Not bad, by far my best outfielder pull to date. I'll train his PM to Solid or even Excellent before I sell him.
Economy
Not much to say here, everything has been reset.
Cash funds: 69 938 US$ (22 866) US
Total revenue 39 950 Total expenses 87 022

Unfortunately we were unable to find a trainee suitable for my training regime. This means we will be short 1 trainee. Im still debating on whether or not to sell my current trainees once they reach Excellent PM or wait til next season and sell them as 21 Yr Old Formidables.
With the extra cash that was set aside for a trainee, we have decided to start our stadium expansion. This expansion will put us in some serious debt again, but will allow me to start making a weekly profit.
As proposed earlier we will expand our stadium to 25,500 seats. It will include:
16,000 Terraces
6,250 Basic
2500 Under the Roof
750 VIP
Cash funds: 69 938 US$ (-218 533) US$
I am right back to where I started from.. Oh well, we'll get out of it soon, hopefully...

As expected we faced a bot team and easily PIC'd for a win..
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 4592 to Florida Stadium. Florida started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Harvey - Dailey, Nowak, Vigil, Adcock - Tomasoni, Winstead, Cebrián, Randolph - Ray, Taylor.
White had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Obrien - Petkov, Rivera, Almgård - Gah-Fat, Baugh, Björkén, Good, Hansson - Dewitt, Merrill.
After 25 minutes Whites Tim Baugh made his way through the middle, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. The referee signalled a penalty in the 25:th minute following an offence just inside of the box. Tim Baugh knocked home 0 - 2 just out of reach for the goaltender. Liu Gah-Fat increased the visitors lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 3. By now White were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. As Morton Randolph had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Florida player a red card without batting an eye. The away team´s Stefan Björkén took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 32nd minute increasing White´s lead to 0 - 4. The away team´s Darwin Rivera took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 32nd minute increasing White´s lead to 0 - 5. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 5. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by White, with an impressive 82 percent possession of the ball.
White came close to extending their lead as Tim Baugh delivered a long range shot from the right but the angle was to sharp, and the shot hit the side of the goal. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 56:th minute White goal, making it 0 - 6. Marc Good was noted down as the scorer. The visitors Frank Merrill took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 69:th minute. 0 - 7 for White. It wasn´t a good day at all for Tony Ray. His powerful style of play didn´t fit the bill this warm day. After 86 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Liu Gah-Fat who increased White´s lead to 0 - 8. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by White, with an impressive 89 percent possession of the ball.
Florida´s best player was Ruben Winstead. Shane Taylor was a disappointment, however. Most important White player was David Dewitt. Stefan Björkén on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 8.
The game was dominated by my team as we racked up 8 goals.

It has been decided that this season will be a rebuilding season for WSP. It is only our second season, and we are still not strong enough to compete in our series. We hope to finish 5th or 6th this year. Series IV.7 contains one bot team, this means that I have to beat at least one other team to avoid auto relegation.
Our Playmaking training is slowly strenghthening our Midfield. This week we put up a "weak" midfield on the road while PIC'ing. I want to reach Solid by the end of the season. Our 2 best trainees are at Solid PM. I expect them to pop to Excellent around week 8. We decided to hold them until they reach Formidable PM so that we can make some decent money off of them. Right now our trainees dont have much for secondaries (weak passing/inad defending for example), but we should still bring in a good amount of cash for them.
Our attack is slowly improving. With the new experience factor, both starting Forwards are putting up 3 stars. An offseason purchase of a Solid Winger should bring me up to my first "Excellent" attack today. I dont believe this will be enough, though, as we are going aganist a Brilliant Defense.
The teams Defense needs some help. This is the part of the squad which always finds a way to get injured. Last season our starting Solid Defender was injured more than he played, and when he hurt himself in week 14, we decided to let him go. We had to settle for a slightly weaker defender as his replacement. My second best defender was hurt in the first friendly of this season. Hes out for 3 more weeks. The best part about my defense right now, is that we have both wingbacks in "Excellent" Form..
If we are able to continue our training and pick up some players to strenghthen our Defense and Offense, we should be a major threat in Season 21..

Our first game of the season is a tough one.. We are facing Infinity United, a Scoring Training team, who recently sold their "Outstanding" Scorer.. That makes me feel a bit better, but not much.
He plays a 3-4-3 with a symetric defense but plays a winger as a forward so he doesnt lose any midfield. His defense is Extremely strong, strong enough that I dont expect to score on him without an event goal. His Offense isnt something to mess with either. In his last match he put up a Formidable Central attack. Heres his ratings from that match:
Infinity United
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: weak
Right Side Defence: outstanding
Central Defence: brilliant
Left Side Defence: brilliant
Right Side Attack: excellent
Central Attack: formidable
Left Side Attack: inadequate
He hasn't changed his lineups around much, so I dont expect him to tonight. To fight this I am going to play an assymetric 3-5-2. I will bulk up my Central and Left Side defense, this way I can perhaps hold him off from scoring 10 goals on me..
For my attack I am going to Stack my Left Side attack. I hope to put up an 'Excellent' rating on that side. My only chance for a win would come in with some event goals, or Infinity losing a player to a red card. On top of it all I doubt I'll win possession because he is at home. The team is holding a prayer meeting before the game..
Game Prediction: WSP 1, Infinity United 4

Thanks Havok, but I'm gonna need alot more than luck to compete in this series.. :(
The Match
At Farm Soccer Complex, 26789 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came. Infinity tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. Lineup: Artis - Budd, Farnsworth, Mabry - Cuello, Nysten, Popovici, Dent - Knöllund, Jamison, Buendía.
White had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Obrien - Petkov, Rivera, Almgård - Hansson, Baugh, Björkén, Good, Ulfsten - Dewitt, Merrill.
After a fine move down the middle Erik Knöllund nearly gave the home side one up in the 14:th minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. Mario Buendía gave his Infinity the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged both the guests central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the goaltenders right post. In the 37:th minute Elliott Jamison put Infinity ahead 2 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. A bit later White´s Bozhidar Petkov easily reduced to 2 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home sides central defense line. Mario Buendía was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was saved by the keeper. However, Infinity´s Ramón Cuello managed to get hold of the rebound and scored the 3-1 goal. 3 - 1 was the half-time score. Infinity held the ball, with a clear 55 percent possession rate.
A bit later White´s Tim Baugh easily reduced to 3 - 2 after a misunderstanding in the home sides central defense line. Infinity held the ball, with a clear 58 percent possession rate.
The most dominating Infinity player was without a doubt Shad Dent. However, Elliott Jamison made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating White player was without a doubt Frank Merrill. Stefan Björkén on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 2.
We couldn't come through in the clutch this game, and unfortunately had to take the loss. Thus ends WSP's winning streak.. That just means its time to start a new one :)

After Match Thoughts
I stacked my defense to combat his offense and it would appears to have worked. My offense had trouble penetrating his strong defense, and that gave him a much better edge. Neither of my Forwards scored and both my two goals came from a defender and a midfielder. What surprises me is that my veteran forward Frank Merrill became the best player of the match. His is a Passable/Weak Forward and did better than my Solid/Weak because of his Inadequate Experience. Just goes to show how experience is starting to effect the game..

The Match
7000 spectators arrived at Vermont Bowl, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Spartans had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Darling - Turpin, Montgomery, Wood, Pollock - Lawton, Blair, Donahue, Linton - Vizcarro, Aponte.
White started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Ramos - Almgård, Petkov, Linin - Ulfsten, Crabtree, Baugh, Sullivan, Gah-Fat - Lancaster, Dewitt.
The terraces were silenced in the 1st minute as White´s Werner Sullivan put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack from the right. Seemingly due to lack of experience, Arnold Crabtree needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. After 16 minutes of play Ronald Wood equalised for Spartans after an elegant attack from the right. Erik Almgård of White received a yellow card in the 26:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 29 minutes into the game Glenn Montgomery had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Jamie Temple. Werner Sullivan sailed high, high above the opponents as he headed the 1-2 in after a corner kick after 32 minutes of play. The visitors Tim Baugh took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 33rd minute. 1 - 3 for White. In the 36:th minute the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 4 as David Dewitt finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 4. White held the ball, with a clear 61 percent possession rate.
Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 55:th minute White goal, making it 1 - 5. David Dewitt was noted down as the scorer. Graig Linton of Spartans received a yellow card in the 83rd minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The visitors Landon Lancaster took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 84:th minute. 1 - 6 for White. White´s Arnold Crabtree received a play slashing through the home side´s defense in the 87:th minute, chipping it past the keeper scoring 1 - 7. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. The structure of the game started to change as White decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Spartanss Carlos Aponte got himself booked after a foul. Bozhidar Petkov increased the visitors lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 1 - 8. White held the ball, with a clear 73 percent possession rate.
Spartans´s best player was Edwin Lawton. Carlos Aponte was a disappointment, however. Most important White player was David Dewitt. Landon Lancaster on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 8.

White Sox Pride Supporters walked into a new stadium this week, featuring a total capacity of 25,500. We didn't want to disappoint our fans today..
The Match
A scorching day at White Sox Pride Arena, where 25285 spectators were in place for today´s match. White had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Obrien - Petkov, Rivera, Almgård - Ulfsten, Baugh, Björkén, Good, Hansson - Dewitt, Merrill.
Beavers tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Conde - MacCririe, Kumar Ghosh, Yongye - Brower, Potok, Jones, Hämäläinen, van Damme - Bottura, Boers.
The referee showed Beaverss Josh MacCririe the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Marc Good gave his White the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged both the guests central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the goaltenders right post. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put White lead up with 2 - 0. David Dewitt finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. Darwin Rivera really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal after a corner, but he lost his nerve. Bozhidar Petkov received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly, probably out of lack of experience, in the 26:th minute and almost caused an opponent to score. After 27 minutes Stefan Björkén put White ahead 3 - 0 as he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. Tim Baugh of White received a yellow card in the 32nd minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The teams went for a half-time break at 3 - 0. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by White, with an impressive 52 percent possession of the ball.
The referee showed Whites Marc Good the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The visitors got a chance of pulling one back in the 58:th minute, due to a defensive blunder leaving Evert Boers completely unmarked. His strike was pathetic though, easy prey for the home side´s keeper. The referee showed Beaverss Ray Brower the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. White were forced to a substitution as Stefan Björkén couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment. With 71 minutes played Tim Baugh could have brought this one home for White, had his hooked ball gone in, but it went just a bit too high. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by White, with an impressive 51 percent possession of the ball.
The most dominating White player was without a doubt Frank Merrill. Arnold Crabtree on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Beavers player was without a doubt Francisco Conde. However, Josh MacCririe made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 0.

With our fans behind us, and our spirit high, we put up our first ever Solid Midfield. Very good sign for the team, as it shows our training is paying off. Despite being picked as the 4-1 loser by other teams in the series, we came through with the dominating win. This marks our first win in Division 4, and moves us into 4th place.

This week we face a rather tough defensive Division 5 team. I doubt I could beat him without some of my starting midfield...
At Real Madrid Vikings Arena, 9041 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came. Vikings tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Lineup: Jeremy - Andreassen, Klintbeck, Ayres, Miller - Wolfe, Ezell, Ring, Colen - Brogaard, Olofsson.
White tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Obrien - Almgård, Petkov, Linin - Ulfsten, Baugh, Good, Sullivan, Gah-Fat - Lancaster, Dewitt.
Vikings took the lead in the 10:th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as Dexter Ring elegantly received a pass going deep, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. In the games 15:th minute Vikings´s Hans Andreassen fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Hans Andreassen for taking a dive. 15 minutes into the game White´s Liu Gah-Fat found a gap in the home sides central defense scoring with a long shot, making it 1 - 1. Halftime score was 1 - 1. White held the ball, with a clear 68 percent possession rate.
White took the lead after 81 minutes with 1 - 2. David Dewitt placed the ball out of reach for the home sides keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. The referee showed Vikingss Curt Brogaard the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Tim Baugh came close to extending the visitors lead as he, completely unmarked in front of the goal, lifted a ball over Jay Jeremy, hitting the bar. Johan Ulfsten was doing a great job at his wing, sending in brilliant passes to his team mates in the middle. In the 85:th minute Whites Marc Good received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. White held the ball, with a clear 78 percent possession rate.
The most dominating Vikings player was without a doubt Clemence Wolfe. Erik Colen on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating White player was without a doubt David Dewitt. However, Landon Lancaster made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 2.
I get another cup game to PIC as well as the cash to go with it. The team I play next appears weaker than the one I just faced, so I should make it even further than my goal of Round 4. Good getting a card in the 85th hurts me as he quickly has 2 yellows on the season.

I didn't expect a victory in this one. Not going to MOTS, not going to PIC, just gonna go out there and hope to not get killed...
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 42441 at Integral today. Divergence started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. Lineup: Molstrand - Huggins, Dotson, Thio - Buchhardt, Goddard, Dobson, Wiley - Jeffries, Lyhmo, Holsappel.
White had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Obrien - Almgård, Petkov, Rivera, Good - Hansson, Baugh, Björkén, Ulfsten - Dewitt, Merrill.
Sterling Goddard received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly, probably out of lack of experience, in the 5:th minute and almost caused an opponent to score. Divergence were very close to putting themselves one up in the 6:th minute as Thomas Lyhmo got through, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. Theodore Jeffries gave his Divergence the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged both the guests central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the goaltenders right post. Stefan Björkén of White received a yellow card in the 26:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 31 minutes Larry Huggins put Divergence ahead 2 - 0 as he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. The teams went for a half-time break at 2 - 0. Divergence, bringing the final ball possession rate to 58 percent, dominated the battle.
Larry Huggins should probably have put his team up another goal in the 51st minute, but some great goaltending by Jerald Obrien kept the visitors in the game. In the 65:th minute Divergences Kornel Holsappel received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. In the 66:th minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Thomas Lyhmo dashed through, knocking home 3 - 0 for Divergence. After this Divergence lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Divergence, with an impressive 60 percent possession of the ball.
Divergence´s best player was Theodore Jeffries. Sterling Goddard on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important White player was David Dewitt. However, Marc Good made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 0.
I feel stupid.. I was half asleep when setting up my roster and didnt put one of my WB's as an Extra Inner Mid.. Therefore I played a 4-4-2.. Oh well, didn't lose that bad. 2 Inner Midfielders put up an Inad midfield, and thats good to see.

Ulfsten finally gets 3 stars which is what I've been waiting for for a while. With 2, 3 star Forwards I am only putting up a Solid Attack. With this in mind I have decided to train passing starting next week for about 5-6 weeks. Hopefully this will improve my attack drastically..
