This was buried in another thread and seemed it might go unnoticed by some people here.

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. A couple of them did make it into version 1.2, which is now available for download.
Version 1.2 is a free update for everyone who owns The College Years.
If you bought the game on CD, there's a download that includes an update utility you can use. It's about a 1.2M download.
If you bought the downloadable eLicensed version of the game, just download the executable (about 4.2M) from the site and run the full installation program. You shouldn't have to do anything with the license itself, as long as it's already licensed properly.
Please make sure you download the right version of the update. Smaller download for the CD version, larger one for the eLicensed version. They won't work with each other.
You can continue old careers after updating, though the scheduling might seem a bit odd given that South Florida and Utah State have changed conferences. Those two teams will continue to play as independents (but will play a schedule based on their new affiliations) until you begin a new career.
Once you've updated, you can't go back to an older version of the game without losing your saved careers.

From Jim's website:
Issues addressed in the 1.2 update:
When a team is rewarded with a new stadium, it should be larger than the stadium it replaces.
When the player changes teams and is later named Coach of the Year, the player name is correctly noted on the Coach of the Year list.
Turnovers forced are now printed along with the team summary.
New screen showing the All-Country High School team during the recruiting period.
Players can now filter on test scores when using the recruiting screen.
New screen allowing quick and easy shortcut to athlete time management.
Replaced 2002 schedules with 2003 schedules reflecting new conference alignments.

I'm guessing a bigger deal would have been made had NCAA 2004 not just come out.

This is beautiful!
Roster -> Time Management Overview
"Use this screen for a quick and easy method of setting up time management for your athletes. This will save you a lot of time when managing your team, but it will also offer you less control over each of your players. IMPORTANT: Using this screen will override all of the time management settings for your team. To control time management for each individual player, use that player's own time management screen, which can be accessed from that player's main screen. With the exception of practice field time, which is absolute, all fields will be adjusted when you exit this screen so that the total for each player adds to 100."
Then, by position group (QB, RB/WR, FB/TE, OL, DL, LB, CB/S, P/K), baselines for Study Hall, Weight Training, Football Study, Relaxation.
Then, adjustments: Practice Field Time (same for all players), Relaxation Time Bonus (added for all players with girlfriends), Study Hall Bonus (added for all players meeting the following criteria: Aspiration less than x, Intelligence less than y, GPA less than z).
The screen seems to then calculate the values for the time management for all players on your roster, and do all the initial settings - basically saves the legwork of setting them manually.

This is the same scenario as has been the case for me during my UCF Dynasty.
I Downloaded the V 1.1 Update to get UCF into the Mid-American Conference but did not restart my Dynasty. What ended up happening was UCF played a regular 8 Game MAC Schedule but still was listed among the Independents and competed for the Indy Title (all other Independents played each other Round Robin and competed as a regular Conference).. Only difference was UCF played 8 "League Games" while the other Indy Schools (Notre Dame, Navy, UConn, USF, Utah State and Troy State) played 5.
With USF now being placed in CUSA and Utah State in the Sun Belt, it looks as if ND, Navy, UConn and Troy will only be playing 3 "Conference Games" now, with UCF getting 8, USF getting 8 in CUSA and Utah State getting 7.
Of course if you start a Dynasty from scratch after the Update things will play as they should for the '03 Season (USF in CUSA, Utah State in the Sun Belt, etc..)
One question I have is are all schools given their real '03 Schedules for the first season after the V 1.2 Update in Downloaded? That is, if I'm in say the 2018 Season with UCF and then after that season I add the Update, do all schools' schedules for the '19 Season look as the real 2003 Season Schedules do?

Test score filtering on recruiting is 0 to 2000, manually entered. So it can be a high or low range.
The 'All-Country' list is under the 'Records' tab, and has QB, RB, FB, TE, 2 WR, C, 2 G, 2 T, P, K, 2 DE, 2 DT, 2 ILB, 2 OLB, 2 CB, 2 S. Shows the player name, High School, and schools visiting (or commitment). Double-clicking on the player brings up his recruitment screen.
Players who are visiting you are highlighted in blue.

Edited: not quick enough for a dola.

Yikes! I may have purchased NCAA 2004 a bit too early. This sounds great, especially the time block simplification! That is what always stops me from starting a new career, the initial time setting for the entire roster.

Would someone who's installed the update check to see if it resets the bowl games to default (as it does with team names, abbreviations, etc)?
Better to know beforehand than find out through experimentation.

The Bowl names are not reset, but the conference and team names are.

Thanks Ryan, I didn't want to lose my bowl list (I'm an idiot, I agonized over the list before finally settling on one, so I'm kinda attached to it at this point).

I just started a new dynasty with the update and the Team and Conference Names have not been reset. I didn't edit the Bowls so I don't know about those.

If only scouting reports a la FOF4 were added all my hopes would be answered.
