View Full Version : Did I get screwed in scheduling this year?

Man, I have a bitch of a league schedule. It goes like this:

Cup: bot team
1: #2 team last year (loss-tie)
2: @#6 (win-win)
3: @new team (60NSI last year, much better than the teams in my league)
4: #4 (win-win)
5: @#3 team (tie-win, though struggled)
6: new team
7: @new team
8-14, reverse

So I have my toughest games at the beginning and end of the year. This is going to be an odd year in PIC'ing and MOTS'ing.

I think I may PIC (cup), normal, PIC, MOTS, PIC, MOTS, PIC, PIC, PIC, PIC, normal, normal, MOTS, PIC, MOTS. And PIC any more cup games I may have.

Am I playing the MOTS card too much? I know I'll need it to try for a tie in game 3 and a tie/win in game 5 (may tie with normal, though). And I'll need it to at least tie game 12 (60NSI team) and maybe win game 14. Can I get away with this and still have a shot at the league?

And its my hattrick 5 month anniversary today

I think your best bet may be to sacrifice one of those tough games, I'd say the 5th game of the season, and just play normal there. Then you'll probably be POE going into the normal-normal-MOTS stretch.

Also, that schedule isn't too bad. You'll struggle in the first half, but there is one good thing, in that you don't need to worry about TS for games 7-10, and can PIC all of them.

At the moment it's looking like I will play the only team who may be able to give me any competition in the first and last games of the year. Bunch of bot teams in my series too.

I have the same schedule as you do Easy Mac.

All the tough ones are up front, I am weakened a bit by selling my vets.

However, I will PIC the first few games, just so I can MOTS against one of the better teams.

Just remember you won't be able to reset TS after a MOTS by firing your coach anymore.

Yeah, I wouldn't MOTS so much. If you think you have no chance without an MOTS, I'd just PIC and take your lumps and have better TS for the next match. PoE/Normal is better than calm/MOTS.

I have a very winnable division this year. No one person stands out, so it should be a cat fight to the end.

My schedule:

1-v. #4
2-@ #8
3-v. #2
4-@ #7
5-v. #1
6-v. #5
7-@ #6 (Who has told me he pulled 2 17 yo Solid Keepers in a row, bastard)

Lather, rinse, repeat. I beat everyone in my series at least once (two stupid losses kept me from a qualification match) last year, so this should be a fairly easy season. #1 and #2 teams are the only ones who pose a threat to me (Solid keeper boy is training keepers and probably won't sell them until way late this season), so having them a week apart really sucks. By Week 3, I should have PoE TS (PIC 1st two cup matches hopefully, and definitely 1st two league matches), so I shouldn't even have to MOTs the top teams. If all goes according to plan, I should auto-promote with a perfect record **knock on wood**.

I am in a good boat in that nobody in my whole series stands out. If I avoid having TS issues like I did last year, I should be right near the top. Hopefully the bounces will fall my way and I'll compete for the title.

It's not that my division is 'easy', it's just balanced. In fact, it was in the Top 75 V.x divisions last year, so its no walkover. The only problem is that there were no free games last year. Every team can put up a 40 NSI (or could last year, at least), which is more than can be said for some V.x divisions.

Hey, the past two years, I had to play the number 1 team back to back. Talk about a blow to TS and confidence
