Penalty: Prison, work detail, Dodger Stadium banishment (http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0717/1581861.html)

On one hand I agree a message needs to be sent to prospective field runners, but why make this guy the scapegoat? Is it his problem that the Chicago legal system couldn't get justice for the Royal's 1st base coach? How come Jack Nicholson and that fashion designer guy (can't think of his name for the life of me) didn't get sentenced to 30 days in jail for going on the court during the playoffs? Better yet, why were they allowed to stay at the games they were attending? The only message this seems to send is don't run on the field if you are a Mexican. Thoughts?

Looks like a case of different judges, different styles. I just hope the LA decision becomes the role model for other judges to follow.

I agree. Punish the factory workers AND the rich and powerful people when they break the law.

This is totally stupid. I mean way stupid. 30 days for running on a field? Give me a break

I agree with it. I'm sure Monica Seles would as well.
