what the hell is this, i did try downloading it again to no avail. anybody come up against this?
There are different things to download for the CD version of the game and downloaded version of the game. SOunds like you may have downloaded the wrong thing. Suggest you return to the download site linked above and check the instructions.

I love it when somebody on this board asks for help, is given a perfectly reasonable suggestion, and then has to come back with an attitude and some stupid sarcastic response. Unbelievable.

I love it when people assume things and just take it the way they want to. Unbelievable.

Call me a puddle of goo, but you are trying to get people to help you, right?

Right. It was the word 'update' in your post that raised the possibility that you might have downloaded the wrong version, along with the warning at the Solecismic site not to download the CD-version 'update' if you have the downloaded game. You do not 'download and reinstall' the update, which is what you said you did in your original post. But since you do know how to follow directions and did so, then I have nothing more to offer.
:)

Which was nothing to begin with, other than the fact that you just like to spew accusations at people.

This may be one of the most ridiculous threads I have ever read on this board. This guy comes on asking for help and goes off on the guy who trys to help him? (By mistaking the guy who helped him for somebody else who made a comment) I predict 3 hours until the retraction "I apprecaite the help, I didn't mean to respond to you." post comes up with three EDITED messages from JeffKnyght

Once when I was trying to get help with a computer problem that arose from installing a new harddrive the guy I was trying to get help in accused me of forgetting to plug the harddrive in to the power supply, so I kicked that guys ass real good. Then I opened up the case and plugged in the harddrive.

I find the whole thing humorous, and I should not be surprised. I seriously considered not responding to his question precisely because these things seem to happen a lot, i.e., guy asks for help, person responds with suggestion the first guy may have made a mistake, first guy gets mad. I noticed that his post did kind of 'sit' on the board a while before I responded. Maybe others had the same feeling. But it is not a big deal. I don't get mad about things like that.

It was entirely directed at the right person. His suggestion was as worthless then as your comments are now.
