I just joined the UBL and now that I'm playing against intellegent competition (not to mention just about to lose my best pitcher to Free Agency cause the previous owner left me no cap room to sign him) I figured it was about time to learn how to manage my ute. In my single player experince I really never figured out a good way to tell when to promote/demote and basically just went by the minors report recommendations. However, that never really told me when a player was ready for the bigs. So basically what's a good way to manage your minor league system?

I think it best to consider all of the info you can about each player:
-stats
-ratings
-talent
-scouting report
-needs

rather than relying on one or two things.

Why didn't you post this over at UBL, Barkeep? Are you worried we'll give you bad advice? :D

Seriously though, FBPro's right on. You have to make a determination based on everyone of those things. Sometimes you'll be right, sometimes you'll be wrong. It seems like the scouts rely mostly on stats, so if a guy is doing well, they'll say promote him and vice versa. I don't always listen to them, seeing a guy having a good season but still with quite a bit of developing left to do, I'll leave him at a lower level.

If you bring up your "minors report," (under your team's menu), it will give you scouting advice like these:

Kanjuurou Etsuya RF 26 Should get a shot at the Bigs if there is room on the active roster.

Atsuo Okitsugu P 23 Not ready Triple-A.

Isane Yoshihide P 21 One could try him at Triple-A, although he may not be ready.

I usually balance that with their stats to make the call.
