Yeah, I wasn't really thinking when I posted that....it occured to me a little bit later. He'll be going on the market so a defender trainer can make him fufill his potential While I will settle for a 25-30 yo solid defender maybe with the cash I get.

17 yo solids are a rather hot commodity. If you pull one in the first week of the new season, you will be swimming in the green. Especially if they have a nice secondary skill.

No, people want Uber Trainees™ like this in the first week. That's why they are worth so much. That's why week 1 pulls are more or less a lottery. If you get a good one you can get some major cash. Two seasons ago I bought a week 1 solid (no secondaries) for $1.5m. Of course back then you could only bid 20x the players value and the his value was 75k :D

So basically what I am saying is if you aren't going to keep him make sure he gets sold before friendlies are played (that way he can get training this week).

True, but first thing first...I need to upgrade my stadium, nothing crazy, just a nice stadium...After that I do have a decent team, I should be able to hold my own without new players...(if hadn't heard already, I'm a notorious transfer addict, having money is a bad thing for me). I still have to figure out what I'm going to train...

Y'know the game is hard when you are poor, but you have one single direction, strengthen midfield...etc.. When you actually have cash, it becomes quite easy to go in multiple directions and wind up nowhere.
