This may seem like a dumb question -- if you PIC a cup game, does the PIC count toward your team spirit like a league game?

More importantly, if it does count, are you guys planning to play your A team and PIC, or play your B team and play normal in the (pushover) first round?

Or are the opponents so bad you can play B *and* PIC?

Play your starters in the Cup (keeps form up) and PIC them (it does count).

Only first week of Cup am I playing my starters. After that I play my B team. And I always PIC.

I've decided to play my starters in all cup games with the exception of my playmaking trainees that way the other starters gain more experience.

My full 'B' team will start playing once we are eliminated

Me too. I long ago abandoned the complete B-team idea. I have my starters, reserves in the positions I am training, and 2 all-purpose backups for the non-midfield positions.

I'd like to go at lest 4 rounds into the cup to get the starters some extra experience.

I think that, except for the trainees, it's more important than ever to play starters in the Cup. As Kevin points out, big boost to your experience. Why give that to scrub backups?

Intriguing thoughts regarding B teamers in the cup. With the premium placed on experience, I'll have to think on this. Perhaps play the A teamers that I have long range plans for in the cup & league. With the IV conf I'm in, I can't see trying to run B teamers in league play. I'm already a large enough underdog to remain up after this season.

Interesting.

I guess I'm kind of in a similar bind as some people here with A team vs. B team in Cup matches.

Obviously, I'd like to keep the form and skills up of my B team (er, GET THEM UP since right now they're pretty bad), but I also want to win. BUT, I also run the risk of injuring my A-squad folks playing them 2x per week until I'm out of the Cup (last season I went out in the 4th round).

I like the idea to put A team with B team trainees in the cup match starting the 2nd cup week.

I'll try that and post how it worked. As for this first cup match, playing the A squad and PIC.

I usually play my trainees in the Cup along with my primary sub for that position to keep my 1 back up in every positions form up. The rest are starters and one starter on the bench... unless it's like last season where I went far, I started playing all starters in my cup and I played my one sub in the league game.
