View Full Version : What to do, what to do??

My first ever DV series game is against a team that hasn't logged in for a long time, and yet they finished 4th and have good ratings. Beating them is not the real problem, though. It is to play A-team or mixed... A-team and PIC or mixed on normal.
The thing is, as I am coming from DVI, I have a good human DV opponent in the next Cup round at my place. I feel I can beat him, also, but I would need starters to play there, as well.
Do I play starters in both and deal with the b-team losing training and form (and double injury possibilities), or mix it up, or what?
Any thoughts from the veterans would be appreciated (this will be my 9th league game, total)? Is a PIC early in the season important.
P.S.- I expect to finish 4th or 5th in my series, as of the current ratings.

Don't know about playing starters or not. What *I* will do is play my starting forwards and keeper in both league and cup and probably play some sort of rotation on defense. Thing is I feel I have 6 defenders that are pretty strong and could all play on my A team. In fact, I have 6 passable defenders and 1 solid. Some of those passables have good experience (talking inadequate, or even one with passable experience). So I can probably play all of them an not hurt my team too much. this may not be the case for a young team (in term of HT life) like yours. I train playmaking and there's no way I will scrap my training program to advance in the cup. I'll train as many as possible while mixing up trainees and starters in both league and cup matches.
One thing I have a strong opinion on though is if it's important to PIC early in the season. YES, YES, and YES. Early in the season is the time to PIC. This will give you the momentum to carry you forward. After a few PICs, a normal will be like a MOTS, and a MOTS will have double effect... I have learned this from exchanging with TargetPractice6 on many thread about this...

I have a similar question.
The team I play is much like almighty's (hasn't logged on in a long while, but has a roster set, and puts up NSI's similar, if not a tad lower, than mine).
I've improved my team just a bit this year, and my best player happens to be solid experience (he was the best player BEFORE the changes, and is now even better with the changes). So I'd say I'm a favorite in this game, though it's not a sure thing. I PIC'ed the cup. That got my TS to "content".
Now, the question - I'm playing all my starters, for sure. But should I PIC? I'll be PIC'ing the cup on Wednesday. The only real abberation on my schedule is a Week 7-8 matchup with the top team, which I'm basically giving to them. So I'll get a double PIC that week. Other than that, I'm going to see how the season is playing out, though I'll likely have PIC opportunities vs. two bots teams. Oh, and I'll also be able to PIC the next cup match, in Week 3.
So, should I take my chances, and PIC at home vs. this mediocre team, or just count on my PIC's in the next few weeks to get my TS up.
My team ID is 8489 if anyone is willing to further look into this, as I'm really not sure which is a better long-term play.
Thanks!
