The best team in England sold everyone and quit. Does anyone know the story behind it? It was up earlier today, but I missed it and now it was taken down.
Thanks

I don't know. I read one of the news stories on hattrick, apparently the author of HT-Zine wrote that his team was shut down under suspicious circumstances. Which I'm guessing means that he allegedly cheated. He posted a follow-up, discarded the previous story and offered apologies. I'm thinking maybe this guy had something with his family.

4 HT Scandals & More Importantly an apology
« Testchester 2:TKWSN | Main | One on one with a Canadian Punk »
Earlier today I posted an article titled "Testchester 2: TKWSN" and referred at the end to 4 scandals which have occurred and have been requested to explain what I know about all 4.
Firstly though I owe a sincere apology to GM-Hans/Hasse and the English GMs. I wrote the aforementioned article late at night and thus misread a key detail, a date, which led to me misinterpreting the information in the thread that inspired the article. Thus much of the article was unfounded and so I have withdrawn it, and implore you to reserve judgment about GM-Hans/Hasse until further details of his plan for his internationals future are released.
Also the GM staff were upset that 3 of the 4 scandals I refereed too where from my home league of England. I have been told this could be interpreted as signaling that England has been a hot bed of cheats but this is far from the case. Every country has a cheat problem and it’s scandals, just that the English ones have been more public and news has spread greater because of the wildly spoken nature of the English Language. In fact, I have been told that the HT staff sees England as one of the cleanest leagues, especially considering it’s size.
Finally this is purely based on the knowledge I have gleaned off the conference and from discussion with various parties. The facts may not be totally correct and I will try and leave out details I am not sure about.
Now on to the contents of this article.
Testchester United
As part of the development of the game the GMs and developers (or Devs) used test teams to examine new features. Most of the older countries had them in their lower leagues where they weren't supposed to win many games, but gradually they became less needed for this development purpose. One in Series IV in England was more high profile; Testchester United. This team had two English International Defenders which gradually caused more and more murmurs of discontent, both from English users and from the national team opponents whom, quite reasonably, saw this as an abuse of a development tool and an unfair advantage to the English National Team. English users also saw this unfairness plus it was keeping out 100% legitimate trainees.
Kester of now twice double winners Kester County, was elected national team manager, with part of his campaign being he wouldn't pick the Testchester United defenders. However not long after him taking over, the defenders were sold and all test teams where closed.
Money Lottery
In the very difficult Series II.4 was a team called Rose of Savage (RoS), owned by Colinw, a side commonly regarded as one of the best outside of the English Premiership. It was only due to the strength of competition in this league that he missed out on automatic promotion, setting up a play off with Rude Boys, one of England’s oldest clubs. RoS lost and Colin did not take it well, to the extent he decided to quit. But rather than just go out quietly he transfer listed his huge list of star players. This raised a phenomenal amount of money. Then, after changing the team’s name to "The Money Lottery", Colin started putting in massive bids on very lowly skilled players. The transfers totaled around £8M.
When news hit the conferences soon there was a huge furore, especially as nothing seemed to being done by the GMs. Then, a few days after the thread had been started, now at least 150 posts in size (a very rare event on the English conferences) a GM announced that the team had only just heard about the matter, having received no e-mails nor noticed the post on the conference. Understandably, there was a large amount of bemusement at this, and some still rankle that the GMs should pay more attention to the conferences.
The delay in response made the clean up job much more difficult for the GMs. Some people had waited to see what happened and when nothing was done, spent the money. When the transfers were reversed they found themselves in mountains of debt. People who had asked Colin to bid on their players were banned or fined. Thankfully the majority hadn't spent or asked for the money and so were left unscathed.
In the last few weeks there was another "Money Lottery" style event on a smaller scale, but was dealt with superbly by the GMs to the extent that nearly all English users never even heard about it.
The Swedish Keeper
This occurred when I was unable to get to a PC so often so my knowledge is not great. However a group of slightly mischievous English players banded together when the Swedish #1 Peter Karlflod was put up for sale. The plan was simple - buy him and fire him. However the GMs got wind of the scheme and immediately reversed the transfer when they saw it was the group that had bought him. It is now impossible to fire a current member of an international squad.
The Ette Scandal
This occurred in Oceania and was dealt with by the HT Team. I am not at liberty to make further comment."

And here's the one where he said the stuff about the team:

When I read the original story, I didn't come away thinking that cheating was involved. I think that the team invovled was run by a GM and had several national players. TKWSN was supposed to broken up and the national teamers move to a new home. The story said that he had found a post in the Premier League conference that said that the national defenders were going to stay on the team along with some scrubs or something like that.
