And surprisingly it wasn't the Colts. A friend wanted to go see Carson Palmer, so we spent this morning at opening day of Bengals camp. Palmer looked very good in opening workouts, but forced a few during 7-on-7 drills (about hit us once with a deep out). Kind of expected the jitters with about a dozen TV cameras there to record his first day of action. He was getting about the same number of snaps as Kitna, so that's a nice sign.

With some luck, I'm going to try to hit Colts camp tomorrow. Anyone else planning to see a camp?

I'm thinking about hitting the Jets camp 2 weeks from today. I'd like to know if we can expect ANYTHING out of last year's first round pick (Bryan Thomas), and if Dewayne Robertson is ready to start. He has to be, because they're thin at DT.

I might stop by the Colts camp, haven't really made up my mind yet. I'm having a hard time caring about football this fall that won't be played on my Xbox or PS2.

ColtCrazy: I'm thinking about going the end of this week. Is there a parking fee? How is access with Lewis?

The Chiefs camp is about 20 miles from where I live, so I may head over there when they host the Vikings, and if I do go I expect to see so many fights.

Well, if there were any camps even close to where I live, than I would probably go, but since there aren't any, then probably not...

I was thinking the same thing. It's later this week, I believe, isn't it?

I'm not exactly sure, but I was looking at a Chiefs training camp schedule when I was at work the other day and and I know it's two days either starting on Wed or Thursday.

I'm going to see the Falcons on Wed. They're practicing at my school, and I need to buy $10 tickets for the Clemson game. I may go over to Spartanburg to see the Panthers later in the week since I work nights.

I would love to go see the Lions at training camp, they used to practice in Saginaw every year, it made for a nice day out, but now they've moved their camp to their headquarters/practice facility in suburban Detroit and they don't have them open to the public anymore.

I went to Steeler training camp yesterday. Only the second day of actual practice, so you can't put too much stock into what was seen. Jerome Bettis though definitely looks in great shape and Plaxico Burress is about 5 pounds lighter than last year and is looking to lose about another 5.

Parking is $10. They've changed it this year and you have a lot more access. You can go right up to the practice field sideline. It's roped off about 3 yards from the sideline, enough to let the newspaper photographers stand. We were close enough to have to move when people would slide out of bounds or throw a bad pass. Lewis seems to roam around a lot and his practice is very structured. Still, he walks with the team right past the ropes, so you should be able to catch him if you want. My suggestion would be to leave the practice 10 minutes early (that's when they roped off the walkway) Otherwise, you're trapped on practice field side. Stand just on the other side of the walkway out and everybody has to talk by you. I managed to get Palmer's autograph and my friend, who runs his own photography studio, got some great shots.
