Hmm, here in Italy it has not been mentioned at all. I guess it's part of their past they'd rather forget. The place where he made his last public appearance, hanging by his feet in Piazzale Loreto, is only a couple of blocks from my apartment. I looked around for a plaque or something that commemorated the spot, but didn't find anything.

I'll take "Evil Dictators Whose Bodies Were Publicly Displayed So That Their People Would Know They Were Dead, And No One In Their Right Mind Complained About It" for 100, Alex.

Ah, nevermind. (Thinks about what would be gained by possibly starting flame war with moderator of board)

However, those in their Wrong Mind...
Ayatollah Khomeini
That bastard Khomeini wasn't publically displayed, he was passed around and groped like a red-headed stepchild in a mosh pit.

Bad analogy, Ornerydoodoo.
Unless the red-headed stepchild happens to be a nubile, scantily-clad 18 year old chick with nice hooters... but you need to be more clear about these things.

Post WWI? I'd say the French have been getting soundly spanked since the Franco-Prussian war. They haven't been a military force to reckon with since Waterloo.

I think you might find a few French victories in WWI if you look.

After living over here for the past year and a half, I can say that Italian do EVERYTHING with style. From drinking cappucini to shopping to calling for the brutal death of Byron Moreno to selecting the next pair of Veline girls, they do take pride in all things Italian.

to Cartman:
i understand you have been living in Milano for a while now, how do you like it?
BTW, I live in Como, a place i'm sure you visited and that is a lot better than Milano IMHO...
so this summer we went from Veline to Velone, no one else can understand what this is all about...
Ciao

Ciao Italian.tcy,
Milano is not bad, but the areas around Milano I like a lot. Como is nice, I was there last year when you got promoted to Serie A! That was a wild time. I also like taking the funicolare to Brunate and visiting Bellagio.
My favorite part of being in Italy last year was the Veline search in July. I thought that Velone was a cruel joke, but no, it is real! I'm not sure the other FOFC members could handle the explanation! :)
