Hey all,
Does any play locally? If so, where would you recommend to play low limit hold'em? (I am especially fond of loose players)

I don't play....but there is one thing you need to know. I believe Missouri has a law where you can only bet up to $500 a day. The Illinois casinos do not have such a limit. So, if that effects you, I would go to either the Casino Queen across the river or the Argosy in Alton.

No the Missouri law is you can't buy more than $500 woth of chips within two hours. It's just to allow people who have dropped $500 in less than two hours some time to think about it beofre they drop any more.

Whoops....two hours, not in one day.... I just knew there was some sort of limit on what you can bet in a certain time period.

I believe the only St. Louis casino that has poker is the Ameristar in Saint Charles. I think the President used to have a poker room but got rid of it, and I have no idea why Harrahs wouldn't want to compete with the Ameritar. I have considered playing a few times but I don't know anything about the etiquette of casino poker and don't feel like going thru the virgin stages. (So instead I play craps)

Cool. Thanks!
I'm going to be in Springfield Il on Labor Day weekend, so I'm going to take a little drive one day.
Has anybody ever played in St. Charles?
