I am about to have my first 2-game losing streak ever (I was in DVI, so not a bragg) with tomorrow and wednesday cup game. How many games do you have to lose in a row (or, like 3 out of 4 kind of thing) for supporters to start deserting? Does it depend on the score, as well, cuz I plan to PIC cup game with backups, so it could be 10-0 or something?

I think it depends on other factors, not just the losing itself. Like getting shutout at home to a lesser team would be worse than a close fought away loss to a better team.

From my experience (ahem, somewhat extensive in this particular department but let's not talk about that) . . .

The closer you are to the Mythical "softcap" on supporters, the more likely you are to have folks walk.

Getting shutout at home - whether by the best or the worse - WILL get you some peeved supporters. If you are at home, DON'T GET SHUTOUT. Period. [Sadly, this is, by far, THE biggest negative to using 4-5-1 in Hattrick.] On the road, it's not 'great' but your supporters probably won't be protesting outside the stadium. At home, expect to be lynched. Hopefully, only in effigy.

Have shrinks (team confidence) and talking heads (sponsors) on hand if you are going to lose. From my experience, have 1 shrink if you just want to prevent confidence from going into the crapper and have 3 if you want to maintain pretty good confidence (then reduce it to 1 once you're back to your winning ways). 3-5 talking heads should keep sponsors fairly happy and money rolling in. You may have pissed off supporters but at least money still comes in.

Supposedly, they fixed the deal where you have pissed off supporters for receiving a fresh can of WhoopAss[tm] from a far higher level team after last year's Cup debacle (some D5 teams were losing supporters after losing to, like, MLS teams in the cup). So, if your opponent is from a higher division, you might be okies for Wednesday.

I was one of those teams that lost supporters even though I lost to a D2 team in the Cup. They fixed the problem ONE week later
