They had a preview for this before American Wedding. Comes out Oct. 3 and I can't wait.
This may very well be the funniest in the series yet. Lots of good spoofs and pop culture, just like in the first two.
Only this time it isn't the Wayans brothers doing the directing, producing and writing.
No, this time we get the king of movie spoofs and an expert at modern pop culture references.
David Zucker (who brought us Airplane, Naked Gun, Baseketball and other hilarious romps) is working with Kevin Smith (of Jay and Silent Bob fame). Zucker is directing, Smith is exec. producer and writer.
I wondered why Leslie Nielsen was cast and why some of its gags seemed straight out of Airline or J&SB movies. Than I checked IMDB.
IMDB predicts that even without the Wayans brothers returning, this may be the biggest of them yet (and a fourth already is in the works). Here's what they say:
Will the franchise succeed without the Wayans on board? Erm, with Zucker working off a Kevin Smith screenplay, chances are this chapter could be the biggest yet (credit the early marketing blitz here, too). Meanwhile, Keenen, Marlon and Shawn are working on a competing spoof for Revolution Studios, but the project is showing no signs of life thus far.
I can't wait. And if the Wayons have a new spoof of their own, well I can't wait for that --- if it happens.
I'm a sucker for this kind of comedy.
