Welcome to This Week In HatTrick!

I would like to start off a little "around the horn" type thread that is similar to the "Game of the Week" thread, but not quite. I would like to use this thread for teams to update the rest of the FOFC Hattrick Community about important things that are coming up with their teams this week. Sort of a preview for those of us who like to watch other people's progress.

Let's see what's happening . . .

THIS WEEK IN HATTRICK!

This Wednesday I play the Arkham Avengers of FOFC at home in the US Open Cup.

4 days later I get the # 2 team in my series, and my nemesis, Ross' Roughriders, the last team to beat me! (0-3 at home when I outplayed them no less). Had that game gone my way I'd be on a 13 game unbeaten streak instead of just 9.

Needless to say neither game will be easy, but if I can only win one I'd rather it be the league game. Although 2 wins would be just fine by me :D

Busy week in Arkham. First we have a cup match against NAIWF's Manhattan Marauders to see if I can get a home match and on Sunday we get to play for sole possesion of first place in series V.234.

*edit*
Feel free to PIC our match in preperation for your big league match.

I play GM-Spidurman for the cup match followed by the Orcs on Sunday. The Orcs beat me out for second last year, but haven't improved much. They were able to get one passable midfield this season, but I think I can take them. I have tied them once and beat them twice. Hopefully it will be three times.

Oh yeah, and an Army of Crawfish with Laser Blasters instead of Claws took over North Dakota.

This week in Hattrick...
Brays Bayou is looking forward to a home cup match with Sharkie's Team, which autodemoted out of division IV last season. Coach Mauro Kern is confident of his team's chances, especially in front of what is expected to be a packed house at Braesmont Park.

Bayou's next league game will be away at the current #1 team Flashotcite. Brays pulled off a 5 - 1 victory in the last matchup, which was at home in the last game of the season. Flashotcite is sure to be looking for revenge, and the Bayou may experience a let-down as Coach Kern and GM Mr. Wednesday are focusing their attentions on the cup tie.

(I am focusing on the cup tie, because I'd like the revenue from another home game, but not to the detriment of the league game, I'm playing it normal not MOTS.)

This week in HT AE logs in for the first time in forever...well, just over a week, anyway.

AE returns to find his squad in high spirits and hopeful of defeating the Rage at Dave Sumner-Raider Field. Both teams are currently undefeated. Rage defeated Quiksand last week by the slimmest of margins, 1-0.

The North County Raiders are 3-1 overall against the Rage, but experts agree that the Rage have more competent players.

This week in Hattrick.....

The West Henrietta FC will be on the road to take on Cute Mariners. This will probably be a PIC game as we are far superior in the midfield and we have a couple of huge contests next week. A Cup match on Wednesday vs. D.III Celtic FC and a road match at recently relegated United FC next Sunday.

Through two weeks, the Crazy Lions are in 1st place in V.53 at 2-0-0 with 7 goals for and 0 against. Cute Mariners are in 7th place at 0-2-0 with a -4 GD.

This week in Hattrick...

Spirits are higher than they have been in quite a while around the Docks. Fans and players alike are excited for the coming weekend, as the Screamin' Seamen are riding a three-game winning streak, including a surprising 2-1 upset victory over the Croats In Miami last weekend. But this weekend's challenge is no less daunting, as the current series leaders, Neon Genesis Evangelion, come to the not-so-friendly confines of The Docks.

Next week, the Seamen will be on the road once again, as they will face their first real test of the U.S. Open Cup. The team will travel to Philadelphia where they will face the sideshow, another 4th-division side. Fans can expect to see a distinct lack of brotherly love on the pitch, with resident hotheads like Pete "The Old Goat" Tomlin and Arlen "Headcase" Lucas on the field.

This Week in Hattrick... G-vegas FC has a tough couple of games. The team is currently at Paradise on Earth, and have wonderful confidence. Both the Supporters and the Sponsers are high on life, making for a must win week for the team.

In the league on Sunday, they take on WoM FC, the team to beat in the series. This will be a tough road game, but with a little MOTS and some luck, G-vegas may be able to pull out a road upset. Unfortunately, the team could not get out of its form slump for the week, with its top striker still mired in poor form. Thankfully, no starters are out for Sundays game, so hopefully theny can pull out a win.

In the Cup, G-vegas is finally playing at home in a winnable game against the Canton Grizzlies. GM Easy Mac still hasn't decided whether to allow coach Stout to forgoe a week of youth training in order to play his starters in hopes of advancing a week in the cup (and making the team a lot of money). It seems it may be a game time decision.

In other news, former first team defender John James is still struggling to come back from his injury sustained 3 weeks ago. It is unknown whether he will be available for Sunday's game. Youngster Per Kristiannson has performed well in James's role this year, and it is unknown whether James can regain his spot when he returns. Also, new transfer Juul Deal has shown no signs of recovery from his 2 week injury. Juul will look to be available for reserve matches when healthy until he can improve his wretched form, then moving into the first team as either a forward or midfielder.

This week in Hattrick...

The Isla Vista Vandals are home against the St. Louis Imperfect Assembly, one of two teams in division V.25 that seem to pose a threat to our run of the league. Last season the Vandals were 1-0-1 against SLIA, however both matches were MOTS-ed. This week, we enter the match at Delerious Team Spirit, after an immeasurably exciting 5-4 Golden Goal victory over the Asheville Demons. With a remarkable Solid midfield performance last week on Normal match setting, the Vandals look to continue their dominance and will play again at Normal. One worry is that Vandals' high Passable keeper, Derek Woodson, is in Wretched form, and our low passable keeper in inadequate form, Alex Anderson, just sold for a little over $130,000. On top of that, solid CD Alfred Poe and young passable IM Darryl Nettles are both injured. We have high hopes, however, and look to dominate an SLIA squad coming off a MOTS against a much weaker team.

This week in Hattrick:

I play Lytic's "Wall of Cows" at his place for our league match. We've lost fans this week, our team confidence is at an all time low, and we're in debt. We're right on track. . .

Hey Ravenhawk, you should make comments in the Dynasty that Lytic started up.

This week in Hattrick:

Lancers owner has attempted to commit suicide by slitting his wrists with a spork. Upon being restrained you could hear him mumbling....."Why not, it's the best thing to happen to my team this season."

After paying to upgrade my stadium 8K with TS at supporter spirit at an all time high, a player I buy, drops my TS, I MOTS at home and lose 2-0, and then I PIC at home for a cup game and lose 4-0. Sooo 3 supporters leave.

I am trying to right this sinking ship and I do that against the Portland Timbers, a tough team, that is one of the top 3 vying for supremacy in our Series. Can I win! I hope soo.

This week, I play another bot team. Stretches the unbeaten/winning streak to 14/11 (13-0-1 over that time).

The Hippos may be looking at their first ever 3-game losing streak in competitive play after their upset in the cup this week. We're in the middle of a pretty rough stretch of Div IV games and are on the road against a tough team.

Good news is that 3 of the 4 players who were on the transfer list sold and we now have about $200K in the bank. After our home game next week, we're going to be snagging a nice starting striker to replace the aging Derrick Solomon and play opposite Edwin Phelan.
