snag him while you can if you train forwards... he is #2 forward and could be #1 if he is close enough to solid. The other forwards have no passing skill.

Now that I have the money for a defender, you put up a forward :P

lytic

You wouldn't be able to afford the defenders... :p

sadly, our defenders are the strongest part of the team... That's why I'm playing a 4-5-1 for now. All are high solid-excellent which go for a min of $1 mil now.

I'd love to buy him but I just bought a 17 yr old pass striker and shored up my d with another solid and upgraded to 25k seats. so I'm -87k after updates. I have a solid 20 y/o striker on the TL starting @ 90k but he'd have to get bid up to around 150k for me to be able to buy this kid. I'd take him in a minute, especially since the current bidder only has a passable coach... :)

Although, I could list my 'getting to old to train but only 1 week from popping (better pop soon) striker almost just like him. except mine only has passable passing.. :)

your timing sucks lol :)

Actually Mr. Team Captain, I could spend $ 1 million if I so desired. . .I won't, but I could :D

Can I buy him and train him as a defender? :)

So I can't train him as a Keeper?

The begining of next season im buying a couple 17 year old passable midfielder's from the small countrys like SK,Peru, Pilipinas, etc...

The experiance gained from being on a U-20 team is so worth it.

The beginning of next season I'm buying two 17 year old solid playmakers that I home tog et on the US U20 team. And I'm serious about that :)

So next season is the "magic" season again to target 17yr old trainees for the U-20 team?

Yep.

lytic

He went for just shy of $700k...

Therefore I think the excellent defenders would go for approx $1.5 mil... can you still afford that? ;)

and actually we are still looking for another keeper! We only have 1 17-18 year old and he's high passable.

NAIWF

Um, that's a negative. About 400K more than my max :P

I'm tempted to sell my oustanding middie and another player to aquire him, but I'm not sure.

Did he just pop to formidable? It looks like he might be about a 3rd week formidable, but that might be the inad scoring.

Lytic- I'd love to have that guy on my team as well, but there's just no way. Nat team players go for so much more cash than the average player. Maybe in a season or two I can start developing middies for SKorea :D

I believe he is 2nd or 3rd week formidable... I know for sure he didn't just pop. Though since I was gone for 2 weeks, I couldn't keep track of exact dates.

The problem with that is that I don't think that 1 million for a passable will be worth the extra experience, especially with the next bump for experience being cancelled earlier this season. I would love to have a U-20 player, but I am not going to overpay by 700k to get one.

You aren't taking in the resell value... You do get your money's worth. You are going to train that person for 4 seasons!

If you have the cash, great, if not, I don't see the purpose in blowing your training load on 1 guy when you could get 3 for the same price who aren't going to be U-20 players.

I like to do mexican dances with nigerian women. It is a fantastic fantasy.

I dam sure ain't paying 1 million for a 17 year old passble :)

I plan on buying a couple around week 3 or 4. If they are going for 1 million, i'll say screw it and just buy passables from bigger countrys.

Hell, by week 3 or 4 you could have a solid with inad or passable in a supporting skill for $1M.

The South Korean Solid +2 weeks keeper sold for $1mil. I don't think passables pull $1mil... a solid probably will.

The Afoci
09-06-2003, 07:12 AM
Maybe I am way off, mind altering items seem to do that, but I was under the assumption that in the smaller countries, everyone has the same idea of getting a u-20 player the first few weeks and the players all go for a huge number. Didn't some solids sell for 1.5-2 million last season for the first week because of the u-20?

Havok
09-06-2003, 08:51 AM
basically, im gonna probally sell 2 excellent PM's and try to find 2 17 year old passable PM's in smaller countrys. If i can't find any for decent prices then screw it, i'll buy some passable PM's with good secondary's in bigger country's. Its not really a big deal, i just think it would be cool to have a couple U-20 players.

As for 17 year old solid's, they will be going for insane amounts of money in week's 1-3 next season. Im sure you'll pull at least 1 Afoci... you lucky $#&!@ :)

The Afoci

I will not pull a 17 year old solid next year in week one. He will be excellent. MUHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAA!

I bought a passable defender with passable passing for $30k the first couple weeks of the season in South Korea. He's a starter.

The Afoci
09-06-2003, 05:28 PM
I stand corrected. I was under the assumption, with the markets in the new countries, that U-20 players in their would go for the same or slightly less than those in bigger countries even though the stats were way less. I may have to pick me up a couple then.

lytic
09-06-2003, 11:26 PM
They can go for absurd amounts the first week... but not always. Usually the 2nd and 3rd week are when you will find gems in the smaller countries for better values.
If there was an excellent pulled, I would expect multi-millions of dollars... solid maybe up to a million... passable, no more than 400k.
That is just a guess though... you can never really tell and now with the exp meaning more, they probably will go for more.

My goal for the next season had been to purchase a young stud 17yr keeper week 1, and train up an U-20 team member. It never entered my mind to do it for any nation but the U.S.

I did a bit of hunting today, and found something rather disheartening. I train keepers. The rate at which the US teams train keepers is double-treble what other "large" countries train keepers at. We're at 9%, while most others are 3-4%. There are exceptions, but it's a huge difference.

I will have the funds. I'll be selling my stud keeper at the end of this seaon. He'll garner $5m+, so I'll be able to afford one of the U-20 caliber kids. I'll be demoting to V, so I won't need the funds to bolster my team. It may very well be, though, that he'll end up being Italian, Portugese, or French. I'm a little disappointed, but so it goes.

This has nothing to do with Lytic's U-20 SK's, but I just thought I'd throw it in here.

Yeah . . . with the amount of people playing and training here, it'd be fairly tough to get your player on the U-20. Still . . . I think it'll be exciting to have a U-20 on FOFC team when you do, even if they play for a different nation. :)

I finally convinced this guy to sell! He bought him and never trained him... so I'm looking for a good keeper trainer. He will probably never make the Nats, but if an injury happens he is currently #2.

You sure you want to use a 17yo weak instead of an 18yo passable and wait until the next development cycle to get a really good one? (I have no idea how training a national team works)

Sadly, he's the only other one available... of course a 17 year old solid pull could happen at any time.

There is no 18 year old passable!
