View Full Version : Rate my purchase - $250K for this guy
David Lenaour (11929615)
26 years, inadequate form, healthy
A pleasant guy who is balanced and dishonest.
Has poor experience and weak leadership abilities.
Nationality: France
Assessed value: 220 000 Euro
Wage: 1 970 Euro/week
Owner: Alf Trickers
Warnings: 1
Stamina: passable Goaltending: wretched
Playmaking: poor Passing: passable
Winger: solid Defending: passable
Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: inadequate
I just bought this winger for $250K. I was the only bidder at starting price. This makes me think I way overpaid. Opinions ? He puts up 3 stars regularly.

i'd say you overpayed by a good 75-100k IMO.
I bought a 25 year old Solid winger with weak PM, Passable passing, inadequate defending and inadequate stamina for 94k
last season.
Now i got lucky and found a good deal. But i think you could have grabbed a guy just as good for cheaper. Could have probally got a Solid winger with passable PM and passing for that price.
But i could be wrong. Im not sure what the market is like this season. I haven't really looked much.
He has pretty high value. I think you might have overpaid slightly, but not a bad deal. The nice thing for you is that he's French, so you don't pay the extra 20%. If his form gets up to solid after a couple weeks, I'd say he was a good buy.
What kind of stars has he put up recently?

Stamina: poor Goaltending: wretched
Playmaking: weak Passing: solid
Winger: solid Defending: passable
Scoring: weak Set Pieces: solid

I voted for "slighty overpaid". As another comparison, here's a player I bought at the end of last season...
Herman 'Moggis' Lewblom (5096920)
31 years, solid form, inadequate experience
Speciality: Unpredictable
Nationality: Sverige
Assessed value: 128 000 C$ (that is 64 000 U$)
Stamina: poor Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: passable
Winger: solid Defending: weak
Scoring: inadequate Set Pieces: passable
Paid only 49 000 U$ for him and he is also putting up 3 stars steadily. I know he much older than your player and doesn't have the passable defense but he giving me what I need, which is good offense on at least one wing...

Only for what little playmaking they give to your midfield. If the player has poor playmaking, it doesn't really matter if he's got formidable stamina...

Thanks for all voters. I'll play him tonight in my league game (which I am going to PIC as I know I will lose).
Update : I played him as an offensive winger. He got 3 stars, and scored 2 goals. On his side, our defense ratings were solid (vs inad usually), and offense ratings were solid too (vs inad/passable usually).
Even if I overpaid, that's a 4-0 victory and 3 more points home to avoid demotion !!

Good, but apparently expensive ;)

Sometimes you've got to invest to earn, lad. :)
In all seriousness, the important is IF he plays a big part in keeping you from demotion, would you consider 250 000 worth it?
