When should I sell this keeper?

I have been waiting for this guy to pop to excellent before I sold him. He just did, but he also just "popped" to poor form.

Tsang Vi-Chi
383 000 US$, 20 years, poor form
Has disastrous experience and inadequate leadership abilities

Stamina: wretched Keeper: excellent
Playmaking: disastrous Passing: disastrous
Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous
Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: poor


Should I wait for his form to improve before I sell him? Will that make a difference to buyers? I wanted to sell him for some much needed cash and bring in a 17 yr. old to train.

Also, if I do keep him until his form improves, I want to make sure that my assumptions are correct:

1.) I need to play him to get his form back up.

2.) There is no other way to improve his form but to play him.

your assumptions are correct. I'd wait for a form improvement before selling hime because his value will spike up too and you may decide to keep him till he's formidable.

Should he consider "General training" one week to try to get the guy to improve his form?

I wouldn't train general. His form will go up when he plays. And in 6-7 weeks, he will be formidable (and cost a lot of money !)

i say wait it out until he is formidable. By then you can get a 17 year old solid for much cheaper anyway :)

right now they are through the roof. But i think i remember superman selling his 17 year old solid goalie halfway into last season for only like 500k.

Just a thought, you could go ahead and put him on the market for the minimum you would be willing to accept. Maybe someone will look past his form and bite, and you could get your cash immediately.

Of course, if you don't really need the money right away, just keep training him.

Why not keep training this guy until the end of the season and THEN buy a 17 year old to train?

I thought that younger players trained faster. I wanted to be working on a 17 yr. old instead of a 20 yr old. FWIW, he is my backup keeper, so I don't care how good he is--as long as he keeps getting better.

Younger players do in general train faster, though if you wait until the "end" of a season to buy a 17 year old trainee, you run into the problem of aging, where that 17 year old you may have just purchased is all of a sudden 18...
