Welcome to This Week In HatTrick!
I would like to start off a little "around the horn" type thread that is similar to the "Game of the Week" thread, but not quite. I would like to use this thread for teams to update the rest of the FOFC Hattrick Community about important things that are coming up with their teams this week. Sort of a preview for those of us who like to watch other people's progress.
Let's see what's happening . . .
THIS WEEK IN HATTRICK!

This week in Hattrick...
Frankfort United faces back to back good teams, on entirely different levels.
First, FU hosts DII's Northern Lazies in a Cup match. In what can only be seen as a suicidal move, we have decided to MOTS for the second straight Cup game, as the Lazies' NSI's the first few rounds have been in the range we could possibly pull an upset. If the Lazies decide they want to win this game, they certainly will. I'm counting on them continuing to focus on Sunday play, as they are new promotees likely in a struggle to stay up.
A Frankfort upset here would be the high point of our franchise, and would guarantee a third Cup home game. Even in losing, a MOTS likely guarantees that we at least won't be shut out at home, so the supporters shouldn't get too irate.
Then on Sunday, Frankfort travels to Ya Yas, the best team in our series. They feature a 19-year old ***** keeper, and a host of other solid players. Add that to Frankfort being on the road, and Team Spirit that if we're really, really lucky will be composed, and you have the recipe for a blowout.

TWIHT:
The South Bay Saints are coming over their best performance ever in a 4-0 win over ToDaMax. Playing normal, we put up our first excellent midfield and a NSI of 69.
In round 4 of the US Open Cup, the Saints are home to face Rockaway Beach. Rockaway is currently in last place in series IV.17, after dropping games to three of the top 4 teams in that series. Rockaway generally lines-up in a 4-4-2, and has a strong attack, especially on the wings, and a great defense with no obvious gaps. In the middle, are two four star inner mids. The Saintss should have an edge in possession, but will need to make the most of their opportunities as the other matchups all favor Rockaway. The Saints' are looking ahead to an important league match this weekend, and will probably try to save some of the energy.
(Tough choice, normal and I would win due to a 3 level midfield advantage, PIC and I am looking at probably one level and a match that could go either way. Team spirit is currently delirious, but I would like to keep it up for this weekends match. I am also sacrificing one training spot in an effort to win this match.)
After two consecutive home matches, the Saints' travel to New Jersey to face the Clowns in week 4 of league play. The Clowns have had a rough start to the season, opening with 3 narrow losses and an early exit from the cup in round 3. At home, they cannot afford to loose this game. Unfortunately, one of their top midfielders is suspended, and their injured keeper will be a game time decision. I would be worried about a possible MOTS if they played one of the top teams they could PIC the following week(because they would lose anyway). In week five, they play the weakest team, but not one they (or I) can safely PIC. With a win on Sunday, I will be in a very good position to avoid auto-demotion which appeared to be a serious risk at the start of the season. Currently, the Saints are in third place in IV.31 with wins over 2 of the four weaker teams (Clowns and me being the other two).
(I started of the season, trying to shoot for 6th place. With a win, I would be one upset away from 4th, which will make for some very interesting strategic decisions in the coming weeks - midseason MOTS?)

TWIHT:
This is my second season in Hattrick. I thought that I promoted to D.IV too soon, but after three weeks find myself in first place. The relegated Lake Superior Dogfight tied last week, putting me alone in first. This week I have a PIC match against the lowest team in my series (IV.35). I'm trying to decided if it is feesible to stay in first; I know it's early.
I'm at a big disadvantage in this series as I only have a 20k seat arena. I'm just starting to get out of the hole. I need a big youth pull to sell for another upgrade.

Learn to spell whitey. That could be why you are at a disadvantage, the fact that you can't spell. Thats right, LEARN TO SPELL. Do I have to S-P-E-L-L it out to you?
Oh yeah, you suck!

At least spelling is not a sign of mental incompetence, it's merely a typo.
By the way: I'M STILL UNDEFEATED!!!!!

After checking spell checker and seeing nothing was misspelled, including the rather large word for you, incompetence, it appears your story checks out.

Over in IV.56, Galesburg takes on DK's clone, The Lazy Fat Kids. These guys pull INCREDIBLE defensive ratings, but have absolutely nothing in the way of offense.
Following this Cup match tonight, we'll likely just drop to delirious the day before the league match. I'm hoping for an excellent-formidable midfield this week. Should be about right, considering we're away, but TS is nice and high to make up for it. Speaking of midfield, that'll be out primary advantage. Fat Kids pull an inadequate/passable midfield, so we'll have a signifigant edge in possession. Hopefully we can squeak a goal or two through.
Our Cup match this week (tonight) should be interesting as well. Full starters, thanks to a walkover this week, vs a team VERY similar to the Fat Kids. We should hopefully win, but anything could happen.

TWIHT (not to be confused with twit, which you would not like to be called in England...or anywhere else, for that matter)
Fear of God, having struggled through the first 3 weeks at 1-1-1, finally get a break this sunday. Fear plays one of the 2 teams that replaced our bot teams. The replace date was 8/12, so they should not, one would assume, have time to get a squad to challenge together, as we planned to PIC this week when it was a bot and hope to do so anyway.
Fear GM thealmighty has been looking, unsuccessfully, for a new starter at wingback in the 2.5 star area who has high enough popularity not to hurt our already low TS.
thealmighty will be glad to entertain offers as they come in.
This week in Hattrick in D4.43, the North County Raiders take their 9 game winning streak on the road to Chesapeake, VA, to play Quiksand and the Cheapshots.
The Cheapshots knocked the Raiders out of the FOFC Cup last season, and are looking to dole out more punishment.
The Raiders are vowing revenge and promise their won't be a repeat of last season's loss, because their A team is playing this one.
Quiksand looks to stay ahead of the D4.43 bell curve and stay in the upper division with a victory.
The Raiders look to try and "stay undefeated" for a team record 10 games while holding a share of first place.
By the way, I'm not in here often, due to the nature of the beast, but Lever, I hope you're not Billy Madison! :)

This week in Hattrick. . .
My league match is not very exciting as I'm taking on a new team that has only played one game so far. They put up a 35 NSI and have yet to buy any new players. Although, they did build a 2000 seat expansion, with all 2000 seats under the roof. I'm not expecting too much of a threat from them. BUT it is possible that I could have a 5 point lead on the field if the Snuzers & Roughriders (4 pts each) beat the Fanatics and GCFC (7 pts each) respectively which is what I expect/hope for.

This week in Hattrick. . .
G-Vegas FC look to have an easy win this Saturday at home against the albany elephants. The elephants won last week 5-2 on the road, but put up only a wretched midfield and a 34 NSI. I could play my reserves and probably trounce this team. Of course, Hattrick will probably find a way to anally rape G-vegas.
Juul Dean, a new transfer 3 weeks ago, still hasn't recovered from his 2 week injury. John James is almost all the way back from his injury, but is training and playing his best football of his career (3*). Robert Barnett, my top trainee, is out this coming game with a red card, though he only put up 2* last week, so I think I can find a suitable replacement.
Hopefully G-vegas can bounce back from a disapointing 2 game losing streak. With a win, I should jump into 2nd place for the season, as the #2 team faces the top team (who wont lose this year). I face the #2 team a week from Sunday (whose schedule goes #4 team (L), #1, and #3), then I get a few weeks off to PIC.

This week in Hattrick...
Brays Bayou FC's cup run came to an end at the hands of Barbarian Horde. The Bayou actually managed to score against the run of play on a long shot, but the rest was all Horde as Brays went down to an 8 - 1 defeat. The Cup run must be considered a success, as a pair of home dates should go a long way toward retiring the club's debt.
The Bayou is now looking ahead to a game against last season's #1 squad, Go Mart FC, in V.84 play. Go Mart has been strangely out of sorts this season, slipping into second place with a week 2 loss then posting their lowest NSI in a season but pulling out a win anyway in week 3. It looks like Go Mart has their act back together with a 65 NSI in the cup match this week, so Brays will be looking to take this game easy and build spirit for the middle part of the league schedule. Brays Bayou is currently sitting in third and appears to be in good position to avoid relegation.

TWIHT......
In V.53, West Henrietta FC takes on recently relegated Midwest United in a match of (3-0-0) teams. Both sqauds have given up just one goal this season with Midwest holding a slight +12/+10 GD. On paper, the Midwest United are the stronger team, but WHFC has won 8 straight and in undefeated in 10 including a stunning win over D.III Celtic FC in the Cup this past Wednesday.
WHFC will also get back their all-time leading scorer Jerry Johnson who was injured in the opening Cup match and has yet to play this season. He has scored 26 goals in 29 appearances for the Crazy Lions.
The temptation is to PIC this week to get my TS up to Paradise on Earth for my Cup match on Wednesday against D.II AYSA Express (a recently demoted ML squad). Any thoughts?

TWIHT Addendum (Galesburg)
Major roster change for the Avengers, as we snaked a solid winger w/ passable passing, excellent stamina, and weak playmaking (weak xp to boot) for a mere 174,000. He is moved directly into the starting lineup alongside Wiley Otero. That should give us the boost to our attack I've been looking for. Ken Shaffer moves to the bench. He's had a solid career there, but we just need better.
AND, Elliot Hammond, having popped to formidable PM, is now on the market for a cool million. He's one of those 'test the market' types. If he sells for a million, I'll gladly take it. If not, no big deal.

This Week In Hattrick:
US Open Cup:
Panther City FC kept their run in the US Open Cup alive with an 8-0 PIC defeat of the Fox Island Marauders (VI.201). Having played my reserve midfielders against Shaolin Landfills on Sunday, Fox Island faced my starters. Sorry about that.
League:
PCFC (0-0-3) now moves on to face Indy Racing Athletic (1-0-2) in a vital Major League matchup. I already know I'll be relegated this season, but I hope to win at least ONE Major League matchup this season.........and this game has possiblities. MOTSing is in no way out of the question, especially since I received a 122 NSI and Divine midfield earlier in the season MOTSing Red Star Belgrade.
Training:
Our #2 midfielder jumped to Supernatural in playmaking, so we're happy about that. However, the little bugger is still stuck in Weak form.
Other:
Here's some fun trivia from the 'PCFC is in way over his head this season' department......
I'm 4-0-0 in the US Open Cup, outscoring my opponents 28-0.
I'm 0-0-3 in the Major League, being outscored 1-9.

This week, I'm going to probably score a goal! More than that, actually. I believe my Aves may actually win this next game against the highly offensive Fockers!

This week in hattrick:
The Krondor Lancers are looking to stop the losing streak, and the loss of supporters as they leave the club. Trying to pick up where they left off, we get to play a new team, that hasn't logged in since the day they signed up for hattrick.
I will be PIC against them to bump up the irritated team spirit I have due to selling a player, that dropped me down.
Then our friendly this week is against a English Div III team. The main reason for accepting the match is for the experience, and access to the 2200 supporters they have in order to get us some decent cash. The team brings in on avg, 3000 to 4000 punters for every friendly. We will get slaughtered, but hope to at least make it a decent game.
Heres to ending a 4 game losing skid!!

This week in Hattrick, the Pittbulls host the second of a two home league match, this time playing their league leader and unbeaten Beatdown Collective.
Even though the Pittbulls squeaked one past the As St. Urbain last week, they will have a tough time with the Beatdown this week. Even though As St. Urbain has just been demoted from III, they posted "only" a solid midfield, which was matched by the Pittbulls, on their way to a 3-1 win. This win though, the Beatdown Collective are coming into town after posting an oustdaning midfield. This will be very tough to beat if they repeat that this week.
The Pittbulls are happy to see inner midfielder Stefan Rasmussen back in the lineup, after missing two weeks of activity and being forced on only playing in a friendly last week. He should help the midfield of the Pittbulls in their attempt to match the midfield power of the Beatdown...

After a tough PIC league loss to group favorite Uwajimaya the Bashers look to rebound in their first match of the USCHO Cup (http://www.geocities.com/lucher24/cup.htm) versus the Scarlet Pups.
