My most recent youth pull had inad scoring, playmaking, and passable winger with poor passing. He was valued at 66k. I put him up for that with no one bidding. Put him up again for 50k. Come back, there is one message.
D@rE#DeVIlS!!! offered 87 500 US$ for Robert Wilson and thereby took the lead in the bidding.
Who raises more than 30k with the first bid?
And he isn't a newbie at the game? Perhaps other messages just didnt show up?

He might just really like the player and will be gone for the next few days so he just raised it to the price he would have been willing to go to? I don't know. . .

See, I can understand paying a huge amount for an U-20 player, but to pay huge amounts for a Nat. team player that will be replaced within 1-2 months when somebody actually starts training other players, is just crazy.
I would do nearly anything to have a u-20/nat player though. Especially w/the huge experience being a factor now.

Yeah, I don't think that SK keeper will sell despite being the STARTING keeper.
vex has the point above that I was going to state. Experience is a HIGE part of the game now. Plus for keepers (and other positions later) the 33% of whatever it is of their wage is very valuable. World Class keepers are about valued around $3million I have no idea what the wage is on that, but lets guess $20k a week. That's a butt load of money for 1 player!

dola
Here is one of my youth pulls that I have bookmarked. He is World Class..
Tom Britton (5208148)
22 years, solid form, healthy
A controversial person who is tranquil and honest.
Has wretched experience and poor leadership abilities.
Nationality: USA
Assessed value: 3 238 000 US$
Wage: 15 580 US$/week
Owner: Danvers Onions
That wage was set when he was valued just above $2mil. So just imagine having to pay that wage weekly!
Now we add the exp boost of the U20/Nats, then we add the wage/money boost... it just makes sense.
Also the the resellability of someone on or who was on has a better chance of selling at a higher value. So it's worth buying a Nats Teamer.

Wow, what was the ending bid at?
Blade6119
08-17-2003, 01:02 PM
122,000...he was my back-up forward and since im switching to forward training from keeper i wanted to get some young guys in...he was puled in the nederlands and i bought him for like 15-20k...never trained him, but he is in solid form and has 100 goals to his name....he wasnt going to play here since my godly youth pull last week so im happy...
What it think is great is if you look closely they kept double bidding and raising their own bids.

Nice congrats!
About the double bidding, I've often wondered why people do that? It happened a lot on some of my sells, and I thought it was weird. Oh well, can't complain when it happens. :D

I always wondered about that double bid stuff. Then one time I looked at the $$ for the bids and saw that the order of the reports is not always right. Sometimes the Hattrick engine (or whatever is involved) will put the bids in slower and it will get out of order.
If you look at the bid amount, it is possibly not in the correct order for the price bid. At least that is what I have found.

kinda did...i like to believe their idiots though...makes it easier to swallow why you bid 122k on a 24 year old passable scoring/passing...

We got a nice surprise this morning as we got a raise from 25K to 63K on our Inad PM/Inad Stamina/Solid Passing 17 YO. Like those above me, I'm guessing the guy either wasn't gonna be around for the end of the auction, or didn't want to play around with the endgame one-upmanship.
Either way, I'm happy. This means I turn a profit for the week with no home games. :)
